Springs with stock shocks

Hey guys I was wondering what's the lowest drop I can pull off and still use my stock shocks without blowing them or shortening the life of them. I only have 37k miles on them so don't really want to replace them just yet. I would like your thoughts on what springs to go with on the stock shocks. Thanks

Lowering the car at all on the stock dampers will shorten the life span of the damper itself. Obviously a greater drop will wear it out faster. Imagine walking around in a squat all day. That's what you're asking the dampers to do when you use lowering springs.

I'd say you're probably safe with ~1 inch. Lower than that and I would just go the coilover route.

I agree with the above. I run eibach springs because they're only an inch drop, mine work perfect on my stock shocks and the ride is only a bit stiffer than stock, no bouncing or other symptoms of a bad shock/spring setup.

You'll have everything apart, just replace 'em.
