I would recommend NOT buying this intake. Dynoing the car with the hood up is not appropriate when trying to show the effect of a new intake. The intake is able to take cool air from the outside rather than taking the air that comes from inside the heat shield. This means that a bad heat shield design will not hurt the hp gain like it should , rather it is just showing how well the air flows through the filter v. Stock flow. That looks like the worst heat shield I have ever seen and there is no way that it could possibly be as effective as the stock airbox. And since when does a 325 make its peak hp at 5000 rpm???? Please explain why that is otherwise that dyno sheet is completely discredited. And those torque numbers are ridiculous as well. I think you should be selling this to e90fanatics, not us.

Like I said I am not selling anything. Why so much hate bro you don’t even own an e90 and you asking ME to post on a different forum. As stated before both runs were with the hood open stock and intake. I am just posting the results sorry if you don't like the numbers... |

i don't mean any disrespect to you. i actually really like your car and the awesome pics you take! just trying to have an intelligent and rational discussion here. i do agree with 335e90, that with the hood up, the numbers are going to unrealistic and do nothing to show if the actual heat shield design works, which is very important. if britalman, creative, or yourself are trying to claim those dyno numbers from a 325i are good (especially the torque), imho that's really misleading.

I think one main thing everyone have to consider before thinking about purchasing these intake/cat back system is that the dyno numbers are not always what they seem in real world. I'm not saying this to just be telling people not to buy this intake, but at least give some info I've learned so everyone can be more informed and make a better decision. Dyno numbers produced within a dyno room under "simulated" conditions are very inacurrate. Not saying what you're seeing on that dyno chart is not real, but the fact is cars react differently when running on the road and just spinning tires in a dyno room. The "increase" could just be an increase you get when your car is sitting on a dyno, but when you're running out on the road, there might not be any type of increase at all. Also, a lot of these ram-air type intakes might end up sucking in more hot air then a regular airbox. You really should think twice and research even more times if you want to buy an intake for performance gain.

jeez ...
people go through the headache of buying a new part, taking photos, dynoing the car, preparing the entire thing and get a kick in the balls to boot? Diesel thanks for the info! I'm sure that comes from all the members and not just myself |

Oh yeah, and quit trying to defend the intake without using legitiment arguements, but please use them if you have any(doubtful). You're just pissed off because you probably have ordered one. Right?
