CDV is there to save the whole driveline not just the clutch but it makes the clutch take up point sooo much more predictable. Have you got a clutch stop yet too? Very easy to fit and nearly as good a change as the CDV removal.
Not yet with a clutch stop. Will definitely looked into it.

Finally, got the car onto the track finally yesterday and gave the brakes a good workout. They were absolutely sensational! Ran a 28 laps run second stint at QR and it didn't fade at all. Unfortunately after 68 laps the car was out of fuel. Highest temp I saw at around 30 ambient was 135 even after the long runs. The PSS was great I thought, and hold up very well, and looks like it works with a great range of temp - not much difference at lap 28 and lap 1.

The tiny little uptake which inconsistently happens on the brakes are gone after the track day. The pads probably just need some speed for it to get set.

You never mentioned the fun factor rating Steve, I assume we're talking 11/10?

Thoroughly enjoy myself - not a day for pics - not sure if Biz took any. Got logs for all my laps though.

Didn't realise it was you there and you should have said hi. Put it this way I was having trouble keeping your 135i behind me . However, I looked at the splits last night and I have to say I am very happy with the progress on the car. When the car is completed, it will give the GT3s a run for their money (not sure about the 991s though).

Pleased that you are happy with your splits. Be great to share them with other forum members.
Do you have any video footage as well ?

Dave russel is a great steerer and His instruction is a great way to quick lap times

No video footage, but as Stu (he was in the 996) mentioned, it is probably a great idea when you have an instructor on board. TBL 1:01.048, and I am losing a lot of time in turn 5,6,7 and at least 2 seconds from Dave's easy laps. Considering there's also an extra person on board the car should do 59s for someone who tracks regularly.

Come down one day to the pharmacy and I will show you the splits.

Definitely learnt a lot from Dave.

1.01 is a reasonable time.*

59 s are a soft target, considering that time can be achieved in a 135 with a jb4 and a downpipe.*

A decently driven GT3 is a 57 sec car with Some quicker

More expert tuition will help you immensely.
My observations were that there is a lot more time in your braking marks.

Once again good to see your nice ride hit the track.
You mention a best lap time of 1.01, was that time achieved by your instructor or yourself ?
Have you had your car dynoed it was very quick on the straights, so I am curious as to it's atw kw ?

I thought this track day was not timed laps? How is everyone getting these times?

CMS or Harry's lap timer, or some other smartphone app maybe.

I had an instructor on all the way. Just to clarify the TBL was the theoretical best lap, basically putting all the best sector times together. BL was 1:03.167 and the extra person should cost about 1 sec per lap. Including Dave's easy laps and was in the 59s, so I know the car is at least at 59s car if not 58s. My aim in the next session would be to get inside 1:01s.

The delta between BL and TBL is 2 seconds that is quite high, as regular "trackies" , seems to have the TBL and BL within 0.3. I know it is sometimes a fallacy to put splits together and say this what the car is capable of but I have enough data to suggest otherwise - basically my times tend to be ruined by random sectors, and there are enough data on fast back to back sectors so that I know that the fastest sector time is valid as it doesn't always follow a bad sector.

My braking is an issue as they are very inconsistent in pressure, I was also late in throttle not very smooth in my throttle. Steering was quite random too that I have to fix.

Max speed was 185.9 on the straight, and that was when I hold the 3rd pretty much to the red line (that's 0.3 second faster than most of my other laps) and maximum power is between 6000-6300 at IIRC 265kw derived from the data at the wheels. All my other laps max power was in the 250s when I didn't hold the 3rd for longer. That is assuming 1700kg weight, 1M Cd, and the 135i frontal surface area. I wonder if there's a weight bridge somewhere so I can get more accurate figures for the weight of car.

I am using an Aim SOLO DL it connects up to the ECU, so you can get all sort of info with your lap times. It is GPS enabled, and you can plot the track, split the track up into sectors etc, look at your braking pressure, accelerator positions, steering inputs etc.

I will get some screen shots once I got home, so you can see the information it can give you. I feel that I can gain another couple of seconds if I have brought my laptop with me as what Dave was trying to say make much more sense to me once I see it on a graph. I think it is really a good way to improve your driving, as straight away, I can identify my problem - which is turn 5,6,7 - especially 7 where I am coming on to the throttle way too late.

Sounds like a neat device. You should go to a track day with timed laps so you can compare it with your device and see how accurate it is. When you say it "connects up to the ECU", do you mean the OBII? The P3 gauge connects this way.

Froop is correct. Harry's lap timer Pro. Calibrated against a Vbox in andrews car on the day and within 3 hundredths. Great value for $20 sector times / vmax / cnr speeds available for the analysts. Only measures to hundredths tho

Timing should be pretty accurate for lap times. It connects to the can-bus rather than OBDII port which you get better frequencies and different sort of information. However as QR is not on the standard track list so the stop start might be a bit out, until I lay the aero map over it.
