STANDBY! I may have a solution to your problem... Don't put crap on the seat!!! it's as simple as that lol put it on the floor, the back seat, or even that big open space in the back, that's made to put crap in. Problem solved
LOL. They actually tell you in the manual - don't put crap on the seat!

Agree wholeheartedly. There should perhaps be an application form you have to fill out and a vetting process before you get a chance to buy a 135i.

I've had the 135i for 2 years, and I still love it. Having driven many cars in its price range & under, I've come to appreciate the 1er and the N54 engine even more. For me, it's less about the amount of power, and more about the smoothness in power delivery. This engine delivers super smooth power and lots of it...in the more compact chassis of the 1er. Appreciate this smoothness, and even feathering the throttle is fun!

I would very much like to keep this car as long as I can.

I absolutely LOVE this car!!! I was driving through the valley today and I was sitting in the middle of 4 lanes at the lights. In my rear view a Maserati comes flying up to get the front spot next to me. His car looked sick, black with black out tint, huge slotted brakes with red brake calipers. I tried not to look too much but it was a thing of beauty. Lights went green we rolled out then both mashed it at exactly the same time. I reached the end of 1st gear and we both let off the throttle. I pulled about half a car on him! He winds down his window at the next set of lights and says... "wow that things bloody quick!!". He was really impressed. I said, "your cars not bad yourself" and laughed. He said he liked my carbon fiber back end and we exchanged thumbs and I was on my way.

The 135i is the best car I've ever owned period. I've had owners of M3's, Maserati's, Ferrari's (the list goes on), approach me all the time and genuinely compliment my car. This is not good for my ego. Mind you, here in Aus we have nice cars, but they are still a dime a dozen around here. I love my 135i!

I will NEVER fall out of love with this car ... after 6 weeks of ownership, I'm realizing more and more each day that this is the car I was meant to own.

After just over 1 year of ownership I am still very enamored of this buggy.

E46 ZHP is now but a distant memory.

I've addressed the major areas of performance and cosmetic need already (ditched RFT's, beefier front ARB, Performance skirts to breakup the pregger look, painted over the hideous gray diffuser).

The only feature that still disappoints me is the bogus placement of the power window switches.

After 20 years of driving BMW's with them where God intended it's just unnatural to me to see them on the door. I still find myself on occasion groping for them around the shifter console.

But those moments are becoming less and less, and I suppose since I have managed to live without a dipstick this long I can also survive the window switches residing in a doofus location.

The only time it's been in the shop is for the scheduled annual oil service completed at 5k miles.

No real HPFP issues to date, although I have noticed that if I don't crank it over every other day or so it takes a couple of seconds to spring to life.

I have it and will likely keep it a good long while is because it reminds me of the '91 318is I cut my BMW teeth on. The 135 is just a fully mature E30 on some serious steroids.

Nothing on the horizon really tempts me, not even the pending einser M derivative (unless of course it has the window switches on the shifter console ).

I look forward to every weekend when I can just let it roll.

After 9 months of ownership I still open the door to the garage in the morning and get excited for the short commute to the work, and the more often than not, long way home. I cannot think of a car (in this price range) that I would rather have. The 135i offers a very unique balance of performance and function that I simply could not find with anything else. When people ask me what's on the list for a future ride when the lease is up, I can't think of anything I would rather have than another 135i.

And this is coming from someone whos HPFP failed at 1200 miles.

I'm actually falling back in love with the car after 5 months of problem free driving. Previously, my record for keeping the thing out of the shop was about 2 1/2 months and I was ready to get rid of the thing. But, damn I love the 1 when it's running properly!

I was falling out of love with it... but lately I've been coming back. The little car is a champion. Performed very well the last track day, and also for long road trips with 4 people and a full trunk. Truly versatile =)

I think there are some people who have ADD when it comes to cars. It doesn't matter what cat they have - it could a Veyron - and they would still get bored and want something else. It honestly probably is a manifestation of ADD.

With my new set of tires I'm falling in love with it all over again. I didn't realize how much the worn-out runflats were killing the experience until I got a nice new set of Toyo Proxes. There are far fewer rattles now because the ride is not so jarring.

Still gonna replace it early next year though, before the warranty runs out.

Hey.. I wanted this car soooooooooooooo badly and I have had nothing but problems... The stereo sucked and poped... The exhaust was loose... Now the dash is sinking into the air-conditioning ... Worrying about the HPFP... You would put the window up it would go to the top hit it and then go back down... Now I just brought the car in for the fire recall and found out that they want to change tail lights... WTF....

The car is less than 4 months old... BMW has done their best to try to help me but their products aren't what they seem to be...

I had a Lexus IS 300 Sport Design... 120,000 miles No Problems......

Still LOVE the way it drives...

Just curious, did you test drove 135 before buy? Why do not you get another IS350? Why do you decide to take 135?
I have opposite experience, my LS300 has problem after problem, most annoying as brake problems. 135 is flawless after two years, so taking two these particular cases can't be enough to generalize which car is better from reliability point view.

Yes, I was complained about rear window rattle, but when I figure out it, I did several full cycles down and up, and problem eventually gone.
And yes, 135 has cheap feel, but IS has the same cheap feel.
