BMW PPK installed or not?

I picked up my 2012 135i with the M-Sport package on it Friday. I noticed while looking under the hood a sticker on the intake box that says, BMW Perpormance power kit installed. I am assuming it was the stage one kit, but after more looking I noticed that on the radiator support the sticker that would be there for the power kit was MIA and only some sticky residue left. Since this is a reflash could the previously owner had it uninstalled? It has just about 6k miles on it now.

That is not the correct location for the sticker, but have the dealer check the VIN #. PPK's are tied to the cars VIN #. A dealer could also tell you if the software is presently installed.

I can call them tomorrow. But since they are tied to VIN's wouldn't that mean uninstalling it is kinda meaningless?

I doubt he uninstalled it. That wouldnt make sense since he can't get his money back or install it on another car

On my 2013 the PPK sticker on my factory (port?) installed PPK is also on the intake at the front of the engine compartment. The dealer installed PPK on my 2011 was put on the radiator support in front of the intake, so I think they are placed in different locations depending on who does the install.

After reading some other articles there has been mention of the exhaust sounding like its bubbling or something when it's installed, which I do hear. And it looks like sticker was on the radiator support at one time but was peeled off or something.

Yep- definitely different sound when up or down shifting with the DCT. Don't know about the manual since both of mine are DCT. The 2011 I had was stock when I got it, and had the PPK installed at the dealer when it became available. So I can comment on the difference I experienced. The 2013 came with it from the factory. Sounds the same as the 2011 with PPK.

I here it both times as well in the 6 speed. Even on light but quick accelerations. Called BMW, haven't heard back from them yet.
