17x8 w/ 35mm offset fit the 135i?

Per a comparison to the wheels the BMW Canada retails through their dealer network (at an astronomical $3,200 with Goodyear runflats) which are 17 x 7 w/ +47mm offset, I ran a 17 x 8 w/ 35mm offset through the excellent comparison machine at http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp (bookmark it if you haven't!) and see that the only fitment change (based on the same 205-50-R17 winter tire) is that my choice will stick out 12mm (a smidge under 1/2") further than BMW's choice.

I presume, given that Tire Rack and many others list the 17 x 8 w/ 35mm offset as being an acceptable fitment, that this will be okay?

Thanks!

It should fit just fine. I don't forsee an issue with it.

These were the wheels I had in mind: http://www.ykwmotorsports.com/Euro_Bmr4.html

But, I ultimately went with a set from TireRack -- Gill was excellent to deal with -- the only issue is that the car won't have winter tires on it now when we pick it up...so I'll have to gingerly drive it home and park it for a few weeks.

Given where the tire (205-50-R17) ends up in relation to the fender lip with the 17x8 / +40mm offset wheels I went with, I'm glad I didn't go with the 17x8 / +35mm offset wheels...as there would have been a rubbing issue.

From reading above, I'm assuming 17x8 et35 with 235/40/17 up front would rub?

I have 245/40s on a 17x8 et40. They're very close to the fender

Ah ok... How is the rear clearance? I'm searching around to see if the 17x8et35 would work with maybe 225/45/17 up front and 235/40/17 rears.
