Here are my preferences:
Public roads: All nannies on, M button ON for spirited runs. Skid pan/ motorkhanas: Everything OFF, including M button. Track day: MDM ON, M button ON.

I run in MDM in most cases including spirited driving in (British) wet weather, full nanny to intrusive and hampers your fun factor!

Just started the MDM routine for mostly weekend driving (no need to commute to work by car), never used the M button for long as I drive mostly sane until an aggressor come along at the wrong time (and even then the rage goes away in less than 30 seconds after obliterating every car in front of me so I don't see them anymore). I can feel the power cut with full nanny more often than I wish

EURO MDM
Surprised I haven't ever commented in this thread.
I use DSC Full on typically when driving for street use. For spirited driving I will turn MDM on. At the track I use MDM first session or two and then switch it off when I need to be faster. As MDORPHN indicated the car is faster but hairier. Euro MDM is an option for North American cars. This can be coded into the car ( remotely or In person ) by a person that does Bmw coding. in compassion to stock MDM one can get use larger skip angles and even slide the car a bit in corners with MDM and the system waits much longer to cut the power. It's enough delay that in my personal opinion it's probably more than most drivers should use on the street. Love the photo of the 1M doing a " rail slide " earlier in the thread. |
