iDrive orange screen
2010 135i, 6000 miles.
I went to turn my car on this morning and was greeted with an orange idrive screen instead of the usual BMW logo. The orange screen went black and stayed that was after about 15 seconds. I turned the car off, waited a few minutes then turned it back on but got the same thing. I drove it to work and everything worked normally except I can't see anything on the screen. Radio, ipod, voice commands, bluetooth all work fine. Anyone ever hear of this? |

When the CIC is off the screen turn itself off, so the screen is just black (nothing). |

I would give it another "chance"... if the sucker comes back again with the orange screen, take several photos and show them to the dealer.

The same thing happened to me a few months after I had purchased the car, turned out the actual HDD failed and had to be changed along with some other parts. The SA told me the total for parts + labor was like around $1500...good thing for warranty!
I would take it in if it happens again this way they will see the problem and actually fix it, otherwise they will just say everything works. GL hope you get it straightened out!

Happened to me this AM so I continued with my errands. After the 3rd or 4th stop, the problem cleared. My plan is to call the dealer. I can't live without the screen because I can't tell what I'm doing without it.

My car did this to me this afternoon. Same symptom as doogle. I shut down right away and restarted. Same problem. Went to get gas. After I topped off, the display came back on just fine. I made an appointment with the dealer to have it looked at while still in warranty.
