Baby got new shoes for Christmas...
... I put it off as long as I could, but for Christmas afternoon I put my winter tires and wheels on my baby 135i. Now I get all the fun and excitement of my traction control taking over when I try to merge with fast moving traffic on the highway, and a vagueness in the steering that makes hard corners scary!
LOL... ah well. I have to keep telling myself it's only for a couple of months. Come the start of Spring I can put my stock wheels and tires back on. On the other side of the equation though it's amazing how heavy the stocks are... I presume all that extra sidewall material in the run-flats makes them incredibly heavy. Plus once I got my new rims and tires on it amazed me how soft the suspension actually is. Not to mention how freakishly quiet the tires are, at least at the moment (took a 60 mile drive to scrape the mold-release off and break them in a bit). As much complaining as I've heard about the stock RFT's though I have to say that I quite like the way the car feels. Yeah, I know that on the track it would be less than perfect due to all that unsprung weight but for day to day driving on public roads I think the suspension and RFT's are well tuned, at least in the 2012 model year. I drove a 2009 before and man the difference is palpable. So now I get to tool around in my sports car driving it like a Camry for a couple of months. For the record I put some nice Moda 17" rims on the car with Blizzak WS-70's all around. I went narrower for "cutting action" and taller sidewalls. Thinking about moving to SoCal or Florida to get away from this white crap. Wonder if they're hiring in Arizona? Pics to follow when I get a chance to grab some... yesterday I had some errands to run and ran out of daylight. |

So as promised, I have some pictures of my baby... taken today before the weather got crap. Looks like I may have just gotten ahead of it a little by putting the winter wheels on. It's wet, small pellets of ice and the temperature is dropping rapidly. Yay?

Yeah, not my cup of tea either. But at least they are winters.
You know, they might look a little better if the chrome parts were painted black. |

Hell, winter wheels are by far the most likely to get beaten to hell, covered with all kinds of crap and generally less likely to survive than summer wheels. These were the right size, relatively cheap, and in truth there weren't a lot of other options in the size I wanted to buy that I really liked at all. Not that I am exactly in love with these, either... but they work |

Should have gone with sport edition K-11's. Many think my car looks better with these wheels. But, they are for Winter. I still think the stocks look best.
Those wheels?... You must have had a brain fart. |

so....... your point being, I'd rather pay a rock bottom price and have my car look like shit...... or pay more and have a wheel that looks good for years to come. lol - even these Ronal bear wheels would look better than those horrible wheels you purchased. lol
