123d Coupe now available on BMW Australia website!
Don't know if anyone has noticed, maybe I missed the thread. Anyway, you can configure a 123d coupe in Australia now. Very interesting as I will probably order the same car again when I return to Melbourne in about a year.
But there are no prices on the website?! Is it broken or is this some weird policy? Every other BMW website round the world includes prices. Does anyone know what the base price of the 123d coupe is? Basically I intend to option it exactly the same as my current car. And I want to order it well before I come back so that it is ready and waiting.

BMW Australia removed all the pricing from their website following an ACCC ruling that required all new (and used) car pricing from dealers to be drive-away. There are quite a few differences in stamp duty, registration and green slip costs depending on state and postcode so BMW decided to just pull all their pricing and have customers visit dealers for pricing. Plus, as I found out, there can be VERY significant differences in dealer delivery charges between dealers (I found $2k difference between two dealers I visited).
Other manufacturers have included the ability on their websites to allow you to input your state and postcode for a more accurate quote, but for some reason BMW haven't elected to do this. |

Ahh. Thanks for the info. Typical government intervention designed to assist the consumer that ultimately penalises/inconveniences them.
Those prices don't seem too bad. Base 123d here is 28k€ but it is literally just seats and a steering wheel. Hopefully the standard spec in Oz is a bit more generous.

That's a good point. Actually, if i'm totally honest I'm hoping there might be an ex-demo Z4 floating around by then...

If you see the prices of the Z4 you'll lose interest straight away. They are well over 130k for the sdrive35i version which is the one you will want. I was given one for the weekend and I really enjoyed it but the 135i is a lot easier to fling around and the drivers car. Of course, if I could choose I would take the Z4 any day, but I cannot justify spending the extra money. The 135i gives me almost just as much, if not the same amount of satisfaction for about 2/3 of the price. You would think you could pick up a 135i for around 60k-70k in a year from now

Hmmm agreed. $130k is way too much. They seem vastly overpriced there. A Z4 sDrive35i here is only 47k€ which is about $90k.
Pity they're left hand drive or I'd bring one back with me
