So these are just bulbs and not rings like the ones used on E46s, correct?

Angle the piece towards the passenger cabin, get the tabs in then close it towards you. FIRC thats how I did it.

It was hard to do but then I realized there was some wire/cable hanging it up. Once I figured that out it only took another couple minutes.

Just so y'all know, my 135i has a textures front lens so that I cannot look into it to line up the holes or whatever y'all talk about. I did turn the bulb a little bit and the light output didn't change. I'll post pics later but they look just like what everyone else has posted

Wonder how well these match the led eye brow on the 135i's and 1m.

So it looks like Lux can do a custom 5K upon request (to better match the eyebrow)? If so, that may be the straw that breaks my back and get me to order these puppies ;-o)

All comes down to personal taste. I don't mind a touch of yellow glow in the eyes, so keeping it stock.

I also want the 5000k ones. The original is not matched with the eyebrow and the ugly old yellow rings. I really like the color of the eyebrow. I personally think the 6500K is to sharp and blue. But taste is like the buttocks, divided!

Just finished installing mine tonight. I personally like the fact the halos and the eyebrows don't match. Although I wish I could (cheaply) get rid of my orange side markers...

BTW who ever designed those light covers should be shot... What a waste of time reassembling the housing!

I would like to know more about this as well. From reading the thread linked above, it looks like Lux should have some 5000K units available about now...Lux, can you comment???

Cross-referencing for those checking the archives in the future re "LUX H8 V3 Custom 5000k Color" (better matching the 1M eyebrow than the initial 6500k version):

I have installed the 5000K on my 1M. Its an amazing difference with the yellow OEM ones. And a really good match with the eyebrowes.

Lux when will you have more of the 5000K in stock? I want a pair for my X5 (E70)...

Anybody try the Weisslicht being sold by, among others, bimmian? $150 and looks to be comparable, maybe easier to install, to the Lux. I think is color 6K
