I would like to see the days that bmw motorsport wins the 24 hour race on ring with a 6 cil turbo.

The 6 series turbo race car from alpina has not won much and it s mostly a DNF.

You should directly address the responses from people on here when you say anti-turbo M statements, which is quite often. Just a thought.

I thought that the Alpina Green Machine was supercharged? Great car, but if it is SC, isn't there heat issues. I also remember reading when the M6 came out, Bimmer magazine said that M were planning on having a 6 series race car featuring the V10...it would have been in the GT class against the Corvette, 550/575, Lambo, etc.

According to a British car magazine the 1 Series M is supposed to release in Europe in late 2010. Is that true? So 2011 in the states?

Have you got a source/link for this?

I thought Europe was set to be Spring 2011.

If I remember correctly....

Scott said the car would be unveiled 12/10, with a Euro release in the Spring 2011, and a US release in the Summer of 2011.

That will be a great timeline for me. Drove a 335is a few days ago, and was very impressesd with the power delivery of the N54/dct combination. Jumped into a 135i with 6 speed after that car and I am definitely comfortable in the smaller car. If the 1m is getting 360 hp/t and a LSD, sign me up now!!!

I think I could almost guarantee that the 1M with have 360hp (or there abouts) and a LSD. So the form to sign is in the post and will be on your door tomorrow.

So I was at my BMW dealership today. I am in the process of possibly pulling the trigger on a 2011 M3 . I was speaking to him about the M1, 1M or whatever its going to be called . He said his manager attended a meeting that was held in Atlantic City NJ last week about all new models coming in 2011. He said that the company is leaning towards calling the car the 135M , it will have 350 HP but the engine was not confirmed. Of course it could change but it seemed pretty concrete coming from them, My sales guy was a podium award winner for the M division in the northeast so he has a pretty good pipeline when it comes to M cars. Just figured id share.....

Doesn't the new N55 135i already push out a healthy 320 or 330hp?

Good, hopefully that 350 is in reality, 360-370, because you know how car companies under estimate the power. The 135i/335i were putting more than the stated hp, the GT-R was putting out roughly 500+ hp instead of the stated 480.
And I can see the rebadgers now if the car is called "135M", all a rebadgers has to do is remove the "I" and put a "M". Plus, it makes it sound like it's a run of the mill 135, there should be more distance from the 135 and just be "1M", it signifies that there were far more extensive changes to it, and it is no longer a 135 anymore.

I am doing Euro delivery next year for something. Either the M1 or M3. If they name this 135M, then I will go with the M3.

It may seem petty, but....

I agree , Im not a fan of the idea of it being 135M myself. In fact when I said that to the sales guy he actually frowned and agreed. I asked him if he thought it would be a modified version of the N55 and said Id hope (and would assume) BMW will keep with tradition and have it be an M specific engine. He did mention that 350 HP was typical BMW understating the engine (i think itll be 360-380 range myself) At the end of the day if the car has some good weight savings 350-360 HP will be more then enough depending on what you are looking to do.

Firstly, the engine has been decided.

Thanks for sharing, but If this info is true then it's not really a true M car, bummer.

Tell your buddy I have the rights to 135M,

Lets hope they don't screw up the name like the 128,323,etc.

Im pretty sure the N55 is still 300 HP except it uses a single turbo instead of a twin turbo, mainly for better emmissions if I recall corectly .

The 335is is 320 HP (N54 plus bmw performance upgrade)

Yea , its still a wait and see type of thing and he said they are leaning towards calling it that so it isnt set in stone. IMO as long as it has an M specific engine along with the M performance upgrade treatment (suspension , brakes, LSD , body etc) then I guess we will have something to be happy about. Waiting totally blows

Yep, that's what he (and Dr. Segler) said.

Best regards,

But I'm still guessing that since it's been made by M division, it will most likely have the ///M badging on the back and sides, would it not?

I sure hope they don't put "135M" on the back.
