Any clue on the 1 series' release date? Any clue what is The E code for the 1 series (E1? )
I am just praying for the swift release of the 1 series before my g/f caves in and purchases one of those Audi A3's!!!

Has anyone considered the possiblity that the coupe will also get the 330 designation, a little later so as to spur intially sales of the 335.
I have a feeling (my own speculation) that the entire lineup (engine wise) sedan and coupe/cabrio two model years from now (end of 2007) will be: 328: 235Hp (3.0 engine replacing 325); 330: 270 Hp (3.0 engine replacing 330); 335: 306Hp (turbo 3.0 new model); Canada for sure 325: 200Hp (3.0 engine replacing 323) But of course I could be wrong. I hope I am right since this would be a killer line-up for BMW_something for everyone. |

I'm getting pretty tired of people posting their guesses regarding badge designations, engine placements within specific models, etc. It's becoming a macho-contest now with "who can be a prophet like Tine in predicting things before they're officially announced by BMW?"

Here's my latest thoughts on this topic:
What if BMW decides to release the 335i as a Coupe all by itself at first in June? Then later on, either late Fall or maybe even in the Winter they bring out either one or two lower designations Coupes (probably only one). Note that the '07 5 Series models are available TODAY. BMW could then in the Spring of '07, release BOTH the E90 & the E60 as '08 models and then start whatever lineup they decide there, obviously inclusive of the turbo engine. Historically, they do usually give the 5 Series the same engines from the 4-door 3 Series.....they are both sedans and cater to a similar market and are usually easier to measure against each other performance-wise. Just my $.02...but as Bimmerista said, I could be wrong. |

Looks like some cool new colors. Any word if they are exclusive to the E92/3? I.e., not available for E90/1?
Anyone getting a whiff about whether the CA emissions holdup on the 335 release for USA is finalized? |

Me too. I was hoping for a mid grey like space grey, but a list that extensive is starting to look exclusive.

Pretender: from what I understand, the M line of 6 engine is off the old block, not the new N52 etc engine familly. Those high performance engines are not well suited to every day driving, they have little torque at low rpms, are more high strung, designed to be pushed in a racing-type environment rather than driven day-in-day-out.
Development of that engine may continue from what I have read, but we should perhaps expect to see successors of that engine in the 1er M versions (eventually), as we have (now) seen their introduction in the M coupe from the e46 M3. Of more importance, on Bimmerfest someone just claimed to have direct info that in North America at least, the 325 will be replaced by a 328 and that the 335 will in fact replace the 330. And the coming of the turbo engine has of course already been confirmed in Geneva. Not sure what to make of this, as other info for Europe confirms that current 325/330 engine line-up will not change for the 07 model year. |

I think a lot of confusion is created when people think this applies to the whole 3 series line. Also, those colors are Euro colors probably. In the US market we'll probably only get a couple "colors", the rest will be a couple of black choices, silver, different silver, white, and a few shades of gray. Heaven forbid BMW offer a "color" in this US market. |
