No problem (well, we'll be disappointed), if they say it's a no-go, just let us know so that we can rule these out. |

Zoeb, really really sorry, although I love the look of these wheels, those 18x9.5 ET62's that just got announced are too tasty to pass up for me. I got the feeling that you are just thinking of machining the back of the mounting plate, to get possibly get ET50.
Sorry for taking any of your time. |

I'm still waiting to hear what the engineers come back with. If they're safe, I'm still interested, but I don't want to see them do something questionable just to hit the fitment we're looking for.

So it looks like we've got three. Later tonight I'll PM a couple of the other guys who showed interest earlier in the thread and see if they're going to get in.
I'm thinking 7 sets shouldn't be too hard at this price. |

(And going by what some of the married friends tell me, that may not always be the case) I'd be interested in wheels/tires/TPMS package as well, if that's possible. It's not going to stop me from buying the wheels, but it would make life easier. |

First I want to thank the OP for getting the ball rolling. To be honest, I've been waiting around to see the progress of this GB while trying to make up my mind between the Rota and Apex wheels. Now the discussion seemed to have slowed down a bit after the specs are finalized, I feel there are still several questions that were either not brought up or not adequately addressed. If someone could step up and answer these questions, I am sure it'll help persuade those who are still on the fence. After all, no one likes to be a free guinea pig.
1) What is the definite tire size range we can fit on stock suspension? On aftermarket suspension? a. So far the safest tire size combination with no rubbing seems to be 235 F and 255R. One may go a little more aggressive if running stock ride height or additional camber. 2) What about center caps? Will we be able to fit OEM BMW Roundels or are we stuck with Rota caps (will they even be provided)? 3) Since these are for a special limited production run, what options do we have in the future if we need a replacement? Are there any plans for Rota to produce a few extra sets to keep in stock? 4) Are these hub-centric with the right center bore or will we need adapter rings? 5) Will these be shipped from wheeldude or directly from Rota? 6) Lastly and most importantly, what is the estimated production time after the collection of payment? Edit: I guess this was answered in one of the above posts. (~3 months right?) These are just a few questions I can think of off the top of my head. Please chime in if I missed any. So far I am leaning more towards G-Force over the Apex wheel for purely aesthetic reasons. Yes, the Rotas are probably not as strong or as light, but at this price point, it’s good cheap interim solution to fitting more rubber on the car. It seems to me that if these wheels are produced, especially in varied finishes, then they'd have a good shot at replacing Breytons as the most popular One wheels. Basically these and the Forgestar F14s should take most of the sales from Breytons due to better fitment and good to better looks. It would be a tough choice between these two for me if I didn't already have wheels but I'd probably go with the Rotas. The Apex wheel will be a top competitor also, mainly used by track enthusiasts, but that includes a lot of One owners.
