Just curious, can someone post a picture of what the ultimate package lights/enclosures are supposed to look like before I try to install something that may be the wrong one(s)?

THIS APPLIES TO BIMMIAN ONLY: For the record, Steve is polite and returns email promptly. However, he still has not, despite his claim above, resolved my problem with the ultimate kit (same issues that 1speedbike identified). As for the trunk light, I refuse to "jam" a bulb in and while I'm not a 1 expert I am pretty mechanically inclined and that leads me to beleive that the trunk light in the 11 convertible is different from prior years as no amount of "jamming" will get the bulb which I received to fit, unless you want to crack the housing. So, from my perspective, now still a bigger waste of time/money.

^Looks great! A lot brighter than I was imagining.
I didn't get a chance to put mine in this weekend due to weather problems. Any issues or things to consider on the install? I'm figuring the dome lights (or rather, the dome itself) will be the hardest to get in. |

Started install tonight and got the 3 front dome and rear dome peanuts, the glove compartment, and trunk lights in. Then I ran into a few problems.
First, and I never realized this, I had no OEM foot well enclosures at all on either side. Where they would normally go seems to be covered by some padding. I didn't have a torx bit to get the paneling off, so that has to wait for a bit to figure out if I even have the wires to connect them. Second, I only have 2 more enclosures identical to the the foot wells ones and 2 peanuts left and no idea where they are supposed to go. Taking a look at BSM's pics, it looks like I'm supposed to have some visor lights (which are not present in my car) and maybe the two other peanuts are supposed to go in the rear dome, but there was only room for one peanut. Got a June 2008 E82, so I'm not sure why my lighting seems to be so messed up. Any ideas? |

That's weird? I installed 3 peanuts for my front dome and 3 for my rear, 2 footwell housing's, 1 tube (the shorter one) for glove box, 1 tube (the longer one) for interior trunk and also had 2 extra housing's identical to the footwells (guess bimmian thought they'd fit the visor lights) but had them send me 2 more tube lights exactly like the interior trunk light for my visors since they are the same stock.

Yeah, I always thought it was too dark inside, now I know why! Hope I at least have the connections for the footwells, otherwise I might as well just have gotten the regular kit and save some cash.

Took a T20 and a flashlight today and I can verify that I have NO electrical connections for footwell lights whatsoever, even though I have holes cut out in the interior panels. So to recap, I am unable to use any of the 4 enclosures and 2 peanuts found in the Ultimate kit.
I would strongly suggest to anyone before purchasing that you verify what lights you have within your car to avoid unnecessary expenses, since I was only able to use 4 peanuts, the glove box bulb, and the trunk bulb. If you're thinking about this kit, make sure you have 3 bulbs in the front dome, 3 bulbs in the rear dome, and 2 footwell lights at minimum to get the most for your money. |

Cars without the premium package (leather seats, auto-dimming mirror, lights package, etc...) dont have the lights above the sun visors, or footwell lights. They also dont get the puddle lights on the outside door handles. |

Well I guess that makes sense in a messed up sort of way. IMO, I shouldn't have to get a $2500+ package on a $40000+ car to get footwell lights. My mom's 2005 $13000 Sunfire has those standard. True, I never noticed the lack of them before, but to me that's like not including a full tank of gas in a new car.

i got the ultimate kit installed, the peanuts in the back had to be pushed in, didn't have any slack at all. none of the leds at each peanut end is lighting up either.
my footwells aren't matching in "whiteness" either. i was sent 4 enclosures, will swap them out tonight and see if i can have any better luck... |

wbg tom, sorry to welcome you to the "ultimate" world; I feel your pain. Instead of "ultimate kit," it should be called "ultimate rip-off" or "ultimate disappointment." Good luck getting them to make it right; you probably have a better chance of seeing the white glow of snow before that happens.
