18 x 9.5 rear with 255/35/18 ?

Can't get the 50 offset from VMR, they're out of stock.

I'm going with the 45 offset VMR 710 now.

They're suggesting a 245 width to ensure no rubbing.

That's the safe response.....what can I run in actuality?

I hear the toyo R1R might run a little narrow? Would a set of those in 255 rear work?

I can't find any decent tires in 245-35-18.

I have swift springs on koni yellows. I'm running 255-35-18 kdws on stock wheels now.

Why not just be a bit more patient and get a better fitting wheel? Even +50 is low for the 1er. +60 give or take a few millimeters would allow you to run something like 275/35/18 without much issue.

You can run 255/35 R18 but will have to dial your to camber to negative 2.5 degrees. Just make sure your toe is dead center or slightly positive.

FYI: Factory camber specs on the rear range from negative 1.6 to negative 2.3.

Thanks Chunner, that helps put it into perspective on how much work is needed.

Think a 245 - 40 - 18 would work?

@Freon If you must know, I'm not going to wait over 1.5 months for a wheel when I am switching away from winter wheels now. I don't mind the aggressive look either.

Re: 1.5 month wait, I assume you are referring to Apex's lead time.

You might check out this thread and look into forgestar as it appears they have lots of offset options that would work very well with the 1 series.

Unless something has changed from when I bought my Forgestars you should expect 4 to 6 weeks. They build to spec which is nice. You can order down to the exact mm of offset. I ordered a square setup and their default was 45 offset on 8.5 wheels which is about right.

Thank guys,

I got the VMR because they're a proven common wheel. Ideally, I'd want to do 19s with a slight bit of camber so it looks aggressive. I just don't want to put in that work / cash now.

Thanks @[Ultimateone] Have you made any changes to the camber?

My tire shop already told me they pretty much maxed out camber on my car to ensure theres even tire wear (on stock wheels). I'm pretty green to wheel offsets, would fitting these wheels change the need for that in a good or bad way?

You're making decisions based on your subjective desire for a particular look, so it's hard to advise further based on objective goals. You have to decide your give and take between performance (widest possible tires, optimal camber) and looks.

Ultimately a +58 or +62 rear wheel would allow you to fit even something like a 275/35/18 or 285/30/18 without being forced to increase camber, so your only concern with regards to camber would be performance and wear, not avoiding fender rub. I personally don't think the car needs additional rear camber for performance or wear reasons, but that could vary based on your driving style.

I also don't believe a change in offset (ignoring other concerns like the tire rubbing something) requires a change in camber to even out wear. Strictly from a geometry standpoint offset doesn't change your camber. You could argue a wider track has a minor impact on body roll by changing your motion ratio and effective wheel rate, but outside of significant changes in offset I think that's moot.

itll be fine. i have 19" X 9.0 w 255/30/19 michelin pilot SS and theres room for more...and PSS run bigger than any other tires out there

Nope, after reading so many fittment threads, I have found out that a 9.5 with a 45et usually works pretty good with most tires unless you are slammed and would need a roll.

I don't see why that fitment would be a problem at all. Even if it required a slight roll, no big deal? I have 10.5 ET 50, 265/35 and had to grind my fenders all the way down flat
