For the regular front end kit that includes mirrors and half coverage on the hood runs from $500 - $750 in Houston. Window tinting with 3M Crystalline is about $300, so I wouldn't pay over $1k for both.

Stud/Sergei, thanks again for your very generous offers. I'm still mulling this over! The problem is I have a *#%$load of work to finish up this week and next before I start my vacation so the coming two weekends are out.
On another note, my CA put me in touch with their installer who uses Speedfilm. I'm not finding a whole lot of info on the internet except a few old links and the speedfilm site: http://www.speedfilm.net/ Anyone have any experience with this? The dealer is 10 minutes from my place and the installer is there all day tomorrow and can fit me in. If the product is equivalent to Scotchgard or Xpel, I'm willing to give it a try.

I wouldn't waste my time with anything other than 3M or Xpel. It's your money and time though. Have you tried contacting the local BMWCCA or checked for installers on the site. Another idea may be to call your local mid/higher end car dealerships to see who they use. A good installer will have the majority as clients.

Sorry for the delay BG, but Ultrashied gave me this quote yesterday for 3M Scotchguard:
The hood, fenders, mirrors and bumper kits is $575.00 installed, with a 5 year warranty. |
