Fredriks 125i

This is my 125i and what modifications i have done to it so far.

Manufactured in december 2010, with M Chassi and sport leather seats.
This is how it looked when i got it from the dealer in 2014 with only 14000 kms on the clock.

Since i bought it during wintertime the dealer is by law obliged to deliver the car with approved winter tyres and these little 16" wheels was their answer to it.

First modification was to get rid of the big and ugly side mirrors.
I was able to find a pair of blue ones from a 2008 135i at a scrap yard.

Also bought a pair of carbon fibre covers.

And a set of nice carpets.

New side mirrors on the car and switched to stock summer wheels.

Next mod was a set of 19" VMR 701 wheels.

So happy with these wheels!

Wanted a bit more power, and since the european version of the 125i has the same engine as the 130i but the software only allows 218 Hp it is an easy fix.

Very satisfied with the result.

Replaced the instrument cluster to a 135i spec.

Before

After

That's how she sits for the moment, i would like to get a black inner roof and replace some of the trim pieces with alcantara wrapped but i think it will have to wait for a while since my other cars has been hard on the wallet this spring.

OEM Z4M illuminated gear knob in place, love both the looks and feels.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing them. I don't think I've seen this thread ever before.

I find it really interesting how our cars over the world are the same, but different. The dash layout is different, the same HVAC controls but in a lower location for example. I think most of us in the USA are also jealous of the clear headlights.

Thanks!

I have noticed that some cars have the HVAC controls on top and radio below, but never realised that it is a Euro/US difference.

For those with the HVAC on top I think that's everyone with an aftermarket stereo, not a Euro/US thing. Your radio, someone correct me if I'm wrong, is the business stereo which wasn't available here in the US. Hence the noticeable difference.
Nice build anyway, I dig the steering wheel trim piece. Kinda want to track one down now too.

Edit: looks like some aftermarket DIN kits can also relocate the HVAC on the bottom.

Correct, i have the simplest sound system available, business. Only full range speakers in the doors, subwoofers under seats and full range speakers in the back. Not very enjoyable, have bought a pair of H/K tweeters and will add them as my next project. Hopefully they will bring some clarity to the sound.

Not a big issue though, for the most part me and my wife only listens to the engine when using the BMW.

Very pleased with my steering wheel trim piece, bought mine here.

I'm beginning tu suspect that is has something to do with if you have the dashboard screen or not. Seems like, no screen AVAC on bottom, with screen AVAC on top.
