Quick tire question

I have a 09 128i with the sports package on the stock 17" wheels. Would i be able to run a squared 225 set up? Also if i were to go 215/?? and 235/?? what sidewall size do you think would work best? Thanks!

You'll be fine in a 225/45/17 square as long as the tire you're choosing tires that list a 7" wheel in the spec'd rim width range. It's what I run, though I don't have the wider rears of the sports package. As for a 235, I'm betting most of those won't fit on a 7" rim.

Thanks, the square set up is what I am hoping to do. I only asked about the 235s because that's what was on the car when i bought it.

235s would be a little bit too big for a 7" wheel, assuming thats the width on those. The sidewalls would bulge over the lips.

7.5 is optimal but tire rack shows a 7" is fine.

225/45R17 tires have a recommended rim width range of 7-8.5".
