Trouble with Pixel 2 connecting to Bluetooth, '13 135i with HK stereo/iDrive

I've tried multiple times and can't seem to get them to cooperate, the car has no stored phones left, and the Pixel 2 sees the car. And I've tried the "Forget" then "find" multiple times.

I have tried using both passwords 0000 and 1234.

Just curious if anyone had any other ideas?

Have checked to see if you have the latest firmware for iDrive?

I have not, I take the car in tomorrow for the airbag recall so I'll ask the dealer to check then.

Or you can go here:

https://www.bmw.com/content/bmw/mark...e-updates.html

Enter your VIN and it'll list any valid firmware for your car based on your options. You can then download the files to a USB thumb drive and then plug it into the USB port in your car. Then you can initiate the upgrade from the iDrive menu.

Thanks I'll give that a shot. They told me today the software is up-to-date, but who knows if they actually checked.

I can't get my Samsung Note 8 to work completely with Bluetooth either. It works about 90%. Everything seems to work, except for placing a call. It works fine on my 2013 BMW 550i xDrive though, so it's something to do with the fact that BMW hasn't updated the software compatibility on the system for years.

Yeah, I don't even care about making calls with it, I just want to use Spotify through BT.

I have the same arrangements, except I have a pixel 1. I have to turn off Bluetooth, and then turn it back on, then ask the car to re-sync with the phone at least every other time I get and start the car. Drives me crazy!

Just an update on this in case anyone else was having Bluetooth issues. I got the update on my Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to Oreo and it seems to have corrected the Bluetooth connectivity issues! Everything works like normal now!

Yay!
