Question Cobb AP can't be installed post software update (2011 135i)

Sadly, my m235i was never compatible with the Cobb AP. However, my father wanted one for his 2011 135i (n55).

When he went to our local tuner today, they tried to install it and received an error message which ultimately prevented them from finishing the install.

Note he was recently at the dealer where there updated his ecu (and probably deleted his ppk software, another story...). Could this be the reason why they were getting an error message?

Flash tune hardware is sensitive to DME version. It's possible it was updated to the new version which is not currently flash able.

Time for JB4!

Does anyone know what the newer update is for? The last update I got, about a year+ ago, was for the idle drop issue. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1033690

Thanks

Unfortunately you, like me are now the not so happy owner of a 135 with 98G1B DME rom. Its been about 3 months now and no eta from COBB as to when they will support the new rom. They are now looking at "some time in June". Fingers crossed.

I just purchased COBB V3 and was unaware of this issue. I contacted them about an ETA and they are still saying a few months. This seems like something they should state on the product page before you buy.

You just need to find a shop or someone local that can flash it back to 98g0b. It's a straightforward process.

Will this affect my DME update? I had to get SIB 12-14-15, otherwise the car was undriveble. I'm afraid that if I get this one taken back to 98GOB from 98G1B I will loose it.

Can anyone verify? I had rather loose the power then deal with the stalling and lurching I was getting before the update.
