Has anyone successfully converted to power folding side mirrors in Aus?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has successfully converted to power folding side mirrors from manual folding mirrors here (RHD)?

I have found a cheap set of Pre LCI power folding, auto-dipping, heated mirrors which I would love to install.

I have read the E88 retrofit PDF guide but it still looks like a daunting task! If anyone has experience with this conversion, I am happy to pay for their wiring/coding expertise.

I asked Advan a while back, and they weren't too confident in providing this service.

Thanks for any advise
Steve

Ive not done it but a quick search shows that if your car has electric memory seats then the folding mirror+window switch should be plug and play.

It is far from plug and play if you have read the PDF file, wiring harnesses need to be purchased, installed, re-pinned and recoded.

If it was a simple plug and play every one would have upgraded to this option

I've always wanted to retrofit the folding mirrors, but never found a set complete like yours. That's a good find!

I'm pretty sure i've read about successful retrofits on 'infant' bmw. Have a look over there for some info.

If you pass on the retrofit, you should hook me up!

I'm looking to upgrade my LCI mirrors. I have comfort access, HK sound, power heated memory seats (non sport), and my current mirrors dip in reverse.

From what I have read on the topic, so long as I get power mirrors I can make them work. I'm thinking coding should at least allow me to fold while holding the lock button.

Is the drivers switch with the extra small button necessary to make these work?

Also, once connected, do you need additional coding for the auto diming and heat?

Thanks everyone!

Mine came with folding mirrors standard?
I thought it was a standard feature on the car?

Mate would be happy to help you with this one, i love doing this sort of thing.

I looked into doing this a while back but bought a different car instead haha.

You shouldn't need to buy new wiring harnesses (unless you want to). You might only need to add a few extra pins to the existing connectors and run 1 or 2 extra wires at the most (based on the pdf). I've got the spare pins, sockets and connectors too.

You ok for coding? Can help you with that at the least.

I have an old set of LCI power folding, dipping and heated mirrors (and enclosure) available if anyone is interested. I converted to 1M ones a while back.
