All these salvaged cars look like they were just driven out of the dealer's lot with no mods to it that I can see. I could be wrong but I would assume there is no engine mods also.
4 out of 740 to me seems like a lot of wrecks. More than 0.5% I wonder what proportions of 135 end up being wrecks considering stock to stock, there is not that much performance difference. If anything, I would expect there should be less wrecked 1Ms since they have better handling. I know there are proportionally more wrecks of Enzos but that is a different category IMO. Most people cannot handle the full capabilities of an Enzo. |

as obvious as this might sound, the one common demoninator in all these wrecks seem to be worn tires.....not sure how hard the previous drivers drove these cars but if your nearing 10k on your coupe check them out....tires i mean...

Wow, what an amazing thread! Great job Glassoman55!! Kind of sad to see this many 1Ms being salvaged... Hope all the prior owners are okay.

I envy your LIFE.
Not just your collection of 1m's, but the fact you make a living as a skilled craftsman. I used to fix aircraft for a living and miss it terribly. working with your hands is good for the soul |

Who else is looking at this thread and wondering what's going to happen to our insurance rates?

I did think about replacing the steel roof with a carbon fiber one......the only thing that stopped he was not knowing if the aftermarket roofs that are available were quality, well made pieces......I've come across some real junk and didn't want to get stuck with a subpar piece.....

wrt to the white 1M with Mstripes: Can't get enough of them and you're the first to publish on this forum!
any M-stripes picture uploaded much appreciated. great thread, thx for posting, good luck with the repairs! BTW, for comparison would you have any picture of a regular BMW 1 series coupe 128 or 135 (with sunroof)? |

As far as I know, the roof should be exactly the same as and 135 or 128....technically you could install a roof with the sunroof cut out on a 1m but who would want to....
More pics to come later on today....... |

Agreed! Thanks for rebuilding these. Even with salvage titles they probably will have very good value. |

I am their importer for switzerland and never saw such a quality for the price they ask (an additional big +), all of them is OEM quality or better and they are very very supportive and customer friendly. The reason I took them onbaord and can fully recommand it to everybody. Additional they have style, check out there parts for 1M, the only one the complements the design and give just the extra small detail that was missed (eg the flaps and difussor) without overdoing. Have there parts on my car to, but not the roof due to garantuee issues. Check it out on www.alpha-n.de Last edited by 1M_Black Beast; 06-24-2012 at 06:36 PM.. |
