What to do about paint chips?

Hello everybody,

I just bought a used 135i in montego blue. Overall, I love the car, but it has some paint chips that I'd like to fix. I was just hoping to see what suggestions you guys might have for this. I'll take it to some local body shops, but I have no idea what a fair price is to fix this sort of stuff... does anybody have any suggestions?

I'm always up for DIY when it comes to bolt-ons and wiring, but I feel like I could really screw up the paint if I try to do it myself. Am I right? Or would it be a relatively low-risk procedure if I tried to use Dr. Colorchip?

That looks above a do it yourself job. You need to visit a pro for that I think.

Maybe I could do the hood chips with Dr. Colorchip and let a pro do the fender? Any idea what a fair price would be for the fender?

for the front - that type of rash is fixed with Dr colourchip ( only removes the finest of blemishes... the white ones- from my experience with their Montego blue paint mix)
Everything else, use the Langka blob remover & OEM touch up with an old credit card. 2 - 3 coats

I would avoid clear coat, unless you know how to apply it, i dont think Langka works on it...

After you are done get a polish, it will blur alot of it. Then simply seal and wax or Opti coat

Also if your google BMW or Bimmer DIY , there is a good guide how to fix severe scratches with 2000-3000 grit & clear coat on a 7 series

Cool... I hadn't heard of this Langka stuff, but it looks like exactly what I need. The body shops are telling me that I'll need a full sand and respray of the panel, so I might as well try doing it myself, since that won't change the amount of work it'll take to get a pro job.

How tacky would it be if I covered it up with this?

I actually think the stripe idea isn't a bad one.
