BMS Dual Cones

Alright I'm gonna take the plunge and get me some intakes. Did some long reading on the Drivetrain modifications section of the forum regarding the different ones available and I have decided to settle on the BMS dual cones.

Looking to get some feedback from Aussies. Searched here and only found some threads talking about them in general.

Just some questions:
1. Price?
2. Where and who is the best to order from?
3. Impressions in the Australian heat (when summer comes around again)
4. How difficult is the install?

Thanks in advance guys.

1. I think it will end up around the $150AUD mark, plus shipping? I got mine in a package so shipping wasn't much more...
2. I got mine from Mike @ N54 Tuning, was good to deal with, and shipped quickly.
3. I had mine during the summer in Brisbane, I didn't have a problem with heat, but I tried not to run too hard when it was hot. I did however take the car on a cruise with other 1ers when it was about 35degrees!
4. Not difficult. Would maybe take you half an hour.

On a side note, I picked up another intake for cheap which I am using now, and not the BMS dual cone. I didn't really notice any difference so will just keep it on. BMS is sitting in a cupboard at home if anyone is interested...

I've avoided an intake because of the extreme heat during summer and my tendancy to plant my foot on a regular basis. I have heard that iCarbon has a CF intake in the works, but I have no idea when it will come out.

Sorry to jack your thread but how's your car running BBK? The temps are going down, your car should really start to open up now

Hahaha, yeah it's feeling good :-) I look forward to driving at night so much more now!

I beat an VT SS ute with quite a bit of work on it last week from a rolling start, he didn't know what was coming!

Nice one!! Always good to beat the Holden/Fords, they don't take losing very well

I'm going to try and make the next Brisbane Meet in a few weeks so hopefully I get to check out your car there.

I'd get em! I have them, didn't notice any difference, however, other than the cool sound you get with em.

Got mine at a good price (better than BMW site, shipped) from Brad @ PSI Motorsports.

Thanks for the great reply I'll get in touch with Mike.

Will you be looking to sell your dual cones? If so, PM me the price

Package arrived last week - which was extremely prompt. Unfortunately my car was still at the dealership awaiting a new charge pipe at the time.

Managed to install it Sunday night with a friend. Was a bit concerned initially about the flimsy plastic tube running over the airbox! However after a bit of fiddling we managed to get everything into place in about 25 minutes.

LOVE the wooshing sound the turbos make now! I am aware of the cones sucking in ambient heat from the engine..but shouldn't be too much of a worry now we're heading into winter.

I was thinking the same thing. There are induction tubes to the intake in stock cars....
