service engine soon light - gas cap?
so I bought a user 2011 on Saturday and yesterday my SES light popped on and the screen said "Tighten Gas Cap" or something along those lines.
I stopped and got gas, put the cap on properly and 24 hours later it's still on. how long does it take for this thing to go off or do I have to bring it to the dealer and have them clear it? thanks in advance. |

Multiple Key Cycles. Go start the car/turn it off 4 or 5 times and it will disappear. Also a quick stop at autozone or alike would clear the code with their code readers.

I think Ive done about 4 or 5 key cycles already... I'll go give that a shot now.
if worse comes to worse I'll do it at autozone too. Didn't even think of that! |

The same code would be thrown if there was an actual leak in the gas return piping or if the vacumn pump stopped working.

I had that problem once. It took a days driving of about 300 kms before it turned off.
