E82 Front Hub Extenders...Help!
Anyone know where to get front hub extenders that work with the E82? The Turner Motorsport hub extenders don't work for some reason (I'm not sure why), and the VAC Motorsports hub extenders are of the same design as Turner's (according to VAC). I can't find any others.
I need to install 5mm spacers to fit a beveled centerbore-18x8 BMW OEM wheel with a high, 47mm positive offset, over Bilstein PSS9 coilover struts on a 128i. A 5mm spacer does not have a hub centric lip (as it's impossible to have this lip and still have the spacer sit flush to the hub, b/c the hub lip is ~10mm), and a hub extender is required for this to work (b/c of the wheel's beveled centerbore). The tire is a dunlop direzza z1 star spec sized 235/40 18. Perhaps we can rally support for a vendor (i.e., Turner Motorsport) to produce a hub extender specific to the 1-series. Or....if you have 2 18x8 wheels w/ a lower positive offset (around 41mm-42mm), and you're willing to trade them for 2 18x8s w/ a +47mm offset, you will have solved this problem. Thanks for reading. |

I tried to find some, and gave up. I thought about making a set myself, but wound up selling my wheels instead.
If you are trying to get more strut clearance, you need less offset, not more. |

m3bs - we are victorious! Called VAC Motorsports in Phila, PA, and got them to machine hub extenders specific to the 1-series and E9x BMW's. They are currently available for pre-order!

Good job.
Unfortunately, I sold the new wheels I was planning to install, so I'm back to running stock wheels with V12s, and no contingency plan for a flat. |
