Question about rear upper spring mounting plate
Hi everyone,
Today I proceeded to install my Ohlins R&T coilover setup I bought used off the message board. I discovered that the Ohlins supplied upper spring perch does not fit correctly into my OEM upper spring mount. Did I get a kit meant for an older 1 series or is it vice versa? Has anyone else ever run into this issue with any coilover kit on their 1 series? Here's pics of what I have. My 135i is a 2011. I haven't attempted to install the fronts yet as I am waiting for camber plates to arrive. |

Ohlins upper mount should replace the stock one.

Yea contacted the seller and he informed me of this. Was just a bit confused since all of the installs I've seen retain the steel cup and there was no mention of removing the OEM part in the instructions. Thanks guys!
I shall tackle this tomorrow. |

As you've noted, the Ohlins kit for the E90/E82 non 1M has a different rear mounting that includes using the OEM cup.
Here's mine for example. Here's one for a 1M - notice the difference I would like to see the rest of the suspension parts you've received. Here are some of the parts I received for my kit. Basically one side of the vehicle. Here are the parts for the 1M

Here are the parts that I received. It appears I have the upper perches for a 1M?
And here's a pic with the rear setup installed. Night and day difference in handling and comfort with just the rears in! I love it! My camber plates show up tomorrow so i'll tackle the fronts sometime this week! |
