Which of these 2 would you choose?

I'm about to dump the runcraps and pulling the trigger on either Yokohama S.Drive or Hankook Ventus V12 Evo. Which one would be the better buy? I don't track/ autox and it's just for spirited daily driving. Stock m-sport with M3 FSB only. Thanks!

I bought the Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110s at the beginning of the year and I have had good luck with them. They're affordable and offer pretty good performance for the price. They have quite a soft sidewall though. I'm sure either of those would suit your needs for daily driving though.

Thanks for the response. Are there going to be any negatives with a softer sidewall? Could I just raise the pressure to compensate?

A lot of guys have gone this route... and what you save now with cheap tires... down the road you will be very dissatisfied with the way the car handles with those two choices. You should consider only the top tier tire marks. And ones only with an XL sidewall... bc when you go from runflats to non run flats... you WILL loose some steering response. The higher XL load rating helps with a stiffer sidewall construction even with a non runflat tire. With cheap tires the soft sidewall will really effect the way the car handles(in a negative way). Ofcourse when you go over bumps daily - the car will ride much better.

I wouldn't say there's too much of a negative other than it feeling a bit more "mushy" than a tire with a stiffer sidewall. Other than that though I'd say the Hankooks are great bang for the buck tires.

S.Drives are also very nice though.

Ok...I work from home so i am a bit bored today. Please see the attachment...you might be better off with the Hankooks as far as performance for the $. The attachment is from Consumer reports....some of their test/results are compromised due to the testing/analysis but I believe their tire reports are better than others.

+1...I included the Michellen Pilot Super Sport in the chart for comparison.

Thanks everyone for the great responses. After some researching, I think I'm just going to splurge a bit and get the Michelin PSS.

Very good choice!

And for some reason the PSS Michelins are way cheaper than the PS2's. ? I think the PSS are better tires as well. You will be happy with them.

I just had a set of V12s delivered and the first thing I noticed was that I can poke the sidewall and make it flex. Hoping this'll be less of an issue once they're on and inflated.

Just got the Michelin PSS on today in 225/40 and 255/35. Absolutely love them and huge improvement over the rft. What do you guys keep in your trunk in case of flats?

The sidewalls on these tires is soft, but for the money they're still a great tire.
