Si tu vois cet article, les phares sont identiques, 2011. Comme c'est une boite de vitesses automatique, tu peux aussi voir si c'est une DCT, ils ont commence cette option en 2011.

If you look at this article, the headlights are identical. Since this has an automatic transmission (automatic gear box), you can also look to see if it has a dual clutch transmission; they started to offer that option in 2011 --

(translation is idiomatic, not word for word)

"Je déteste les boites automatiques. Elles sont devenu presque impossible à éviter récemment"

I hate automatic transmissions. They have become almost impossible to avoid recently

Today I handed over the keys to my 135is to the dealer. Next week I'll travel to Spartanburg and take delivery of my M2. It wasn't an easy decision to trade the 135is for the M2, but I'm taking the plunge.

I'm still absolutely in love the 135is, which is by far the most enjoyable daily driver I've ever had the pleasure of driving. The capabilities and charms of the 1er are a mostly a secret hiding in plain sight for the rest of the car community. I never cared that most of the motoring public had no idea what they were looking at. Even some within the BMW community were ignorant to the 1er and dismissed it as being less than a 3 series.

I'm not saying goodbye to fellow 1ADDICTS, but I just want to say thanks for the support, advice, and camaraderie now, and in the future!

Rick

Congratulations on your upgrade! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Always thought your 135is was absolutely stunning. One of the nicest here on the forum. It will make somebody very happy.

Like most of us here, I think the rear of the 1er is its best view, so I hate to see it go, but love to watch it leave.

Took on a modified 997 yesterday. Kept up well until a very tight corner, the Pcar took it wider and was more composed, 135is was all over the place but kept up very well.
What a blast these little monsters are.

Well, I think I'm putting the car up for sale. I really need something more practical, might be able to settle for a dinan-tuned F31 to still get my yuks.

That would be a sad day, though the number of original IS owners dwindles by the day.

Shame I don't think they ever made the F31 in the "35i" variety and I'm not a huge fan of that turbo 4, though it certainly feels a lot quicker than the identically spec'd mercedes turbo 4. The dinan tune should help though take it up near 300hp...but still a turbo 4.

What about an original X1 35i with the m-sport package. Slap a dinan tune or PPK on that and voila, almost like a wagon version of the IS. Maybe one even exists in stick? Back seat room is a lil tough to fit people in though, but dogs like it.

Yeah, but this just creates new second (and third) owners. I just drove my 135is convertible to Boise through the mountains 155 miles this afternoon. I think I'm just as passionate about my 1-Series cars even though I bought all 3 of them second-hand. In fact, I think that subsequent owners can be even more enthusiastic about the cars, because they didn't buy them to get the latest and greatest thing, all of which fades with the new car smell.

I don't see myself ever buying a new BMW in the future. The damn things (1M excepted) depreciate faster than a used sofa on Craig's List, and it is so easy to find newish ones with 2-3 years on them for 40% and greater discounts. All of mine were barely used, in fact, my 135is convertible only had around 6000 miles on it after 2 years, when I picked it up from Carmax.

Well, it's a sad day and a shame not so much because of the car itself, but because many of us have known each other and had a personal relationship for almost 4 years and went through the whole process together of ordering, helping each other figure out what colors and options to get and not get, watching the cars get built, and then the agonizing 3-month wait and tracking the cars and the boats they were on until they ultimately, finally arrived. A bunch of us have met each other and hung out, and seen the very IS's we had a bit of a vested interest in getting built as well. So, on a personal level and due to history and experience, there is a common bond there among the initial owners and the trials and tribulations we may have gone through together.

While the car is exactly the same to the subsequent owners, the experience is a little different, and the camaraderie is not quite the same.

Also on my 3rd 1, 08, 11 msport, and this, all verts. Personally I'm glad they do depreciate. Picked mine up in Dec 14, 9mos old with 3400 miles. Sticker was 54,700 bought it for 33K from a Mercedes dealer in West Palm. Is it just me but it seems that the exhaust sounds better with age. Also I've read that software updates degrade sound and performace, does this also apply to our is's

does this thread need a bump? I feel like it needs a bump.

I just picked up #104 on Sunday from the dealership the original owner bought it from. 2013 VRM 135is coupe 6MT w/coral interior. 19k miles, all service records at Mountain View BMW, Premium/Tech/Comfort/Nav, I even got 2 sets of BMW floormats with it!

I've got a JB4, VRSF charge pipe, K&N drop in filter and LUX LED halos on the way. Should be a pretty nifty toy.

She sits in the garage next to my 2012 X3 Xdrive35i and overall is the 3rd BMW that we've owned. Previously we had a '95 cosmos black M3 with dove vaders in it. It feels good to get back into something sporty again, pretty significant upgrade from the '06 IS350 she's replacing

Performance Pack Add On a 2013 135i

Hello boys and girls, as the "Junkman" says in his detailing videos . . .

Since this thread is on life support, maybe I can spur a little bit of discussion about a component in our 135is vehicles, notably the BMW Performance Pack, or PPK.

My 135is convertible has this installed, of course. Here is a picture of the engine bay:

Name: 135is Convertible 2.jpg
Views: 596
Size: 590.1 KB

I had previously been under the impression that there were two versions of the PPK, with the 1 being only the software and the 2 including hardware such as an oil cooler. If the car (a 135i, not 135is) did not have an option code "440," then you could not simply do software flash, you needed the whole version 2, which apparently is no longer for sale.

I also own a 2013 135i Coupe. My BMW tech looked up my car's VIN # and told me that I could just do the flash, to add this Performance Pack, because the extra oil cooler was already in there. I should note that the original Monroney label on the car, which I found in the glove box of the car which I bought used at 2 years of age last year, states that under standard equipment it has "3.0-liter dual M Sport Package cam (DOHC), 24-valve, inline turbocharged 60cylinder engine with TwinPower Turbo technology," blah blah blah. Apparently in the case of an N55, this substitutes for the "Option Code 440" in earlier cars.

Anyway, I sent my tech a cell phone picture of the engine compartment near the oil filter, as he requested, and he sent it back annotated as below, showing that it did already have the needed oil cooler installed:

Name: 135i Coupe Engine Oil Cooler Location.jpg
Views: 682
Size: 628.0 KB

They have quoted me $818 including sales tax to install this Performance Pack, which will add about 20 HP to the car. I am inclined to do it. In addition to the power addition, it apparently also improves the tonality of the exhaust, although I would imagine that it will not be as good as a real 135is exhaust note. I know that perhaps I could save a little by doing this elsewhere, or buying the part online, but this dealer has been very good to me and I believe that they deserve my business.

What do you think? Would it be worth it? I can't really compare to my 135is convertible, because the vert is several hundred pounds heavier than the coupe version of the 135i.

The other difference to your exhaust sound will be that your 135is has the BMW Performance exhaust, and your 2013 135i did not come stock with it, although it can (or could've) been added to the car.

I paid full price for PPK back in 2011, and never regretted it. If you're interested, there may be other cheaper ways to get it these days. Of course, if you ever need it reflashed for any reason and you bought it from your dealer, there will be no issues getting it reflashed again. I like being loyal to my dealer as well since they treat me so good.
