Man it feels good..

i finally got out there last night and spent some time with the car. Nothing toooo big. Put the carbon fiber lips on, and shaved the back. I have had the lips sitting in my room since xmas, and have been talking about shaving the back since 2 weeks BEFORE i ordered the car. finally got around to it. i took a couple pictures with the phone last night, i will post them later, and then more this weekend after the car gets washed and wax. all in all, sparkling graphit NEEDS carbon fiber lips and alllll cars need to be shaved in the back.
and i can see this thread getting jacked and turning into an old thread, so just for fun.
1. yes i have a 325.
2. yes i would shave a 330
3. my last car was a brand new (at the time) 2003 tl-type s and i shaved everything the week i got it. so while the bmw is a better car, the tl i had was a top of the line model, and i was happy to shave that.

I can see you getting tired of saying "yea I took off my 325 badge" to 330 people, and I get tired of hearing "I LOVE my 325 and don't think the 330 makes sense so anyone who drives a 330 is crazy cuz they claim they feel a hp difference when it's sooo slight and they really only bought it to piss on us 325 people".

EDIT: Why do all cars need a shave in the back?

I'd definitely consider taking the badge off when I get my 3, and it has nothing to do with trying to "hide" what model I have.

I took the "Acura" and "TSX" badges off my car, and I think it looks so much cleaner in the back. Just an Acura symbol in the middle.

Nice job, congrats, cdheaven. Can't wait to see the pics!
I've already instructed my dealer to "shave the back" on my new car before I pick it up.
I agree with you completetly.

I think I'm immune to the "you're just wishing your car was a 330" thing, since there's only 1 flavor on Touring's in the U.S.
BTW, my 325xiT MSRP is the same as a loaded 330i, so it has nothing to do with "status"
It just looks better IMO.

I'll get a custom badge that says E90, and see what kind of dorky comments I get!

i can't believe there is such subdivision among E90 owners that 330i owners would look down at 325i owners and 325i owners would try to discredit all the benefits you get when you buy a 330i!!! that is just ridiculous! people that truly know the differences between the two choose their model not because of the "cool" factor but because they know what they want. if they do talk shit about one or the other, they only got the car so that they can say "yo man, i drive a BMW, are you better than me?"

when i see an E90 on the road sitting next to me, 325i or 330i, unless it's modded by KAS, i give 'em thumbs up! :rocks:

The only "debadging" I did was take the dealer ad sticker off. Talk about making the car look cleaner!

I run a debadged 330. There ja go. Am I a poser too?

I really don´t mind if someone mistakes your debadged 325 for my debadged 330. I´m a bigger man than that.

Fact is, the rear end really looks a lot cleaner without the badge. Most E90 in Germany are debadged, no matter what model.

Just consider yourself extravagantly european...

Man, I hear ya! to all BMW's not just e90's! I was surprised as hell to see this type of interaction, but again, that shows that I really still have lots to learn because when I thought about it, what made me think some BMW drivers were any more classy than the worst drivers from other brands?

Funny, I never thought of debadging my car so people might think I have a bigger engine.

Most germans order their BMWs debadged so their friggin neighbours won't know which engine you drive. (too envious!)

Also, I'm going to order my 320d debadged so that noone can tell if it's a 320i or d. The diesels are much more attractive to thieves here in europe.

Can't they tell by the muffler tip?
