I love that in the U.S you can play with letters & words on your plates. The U.K is so strict and has to follow a certain format. Most of the time people just buy random plates with initials on them of their kids or whatever because it's just that hard. You can get some like "911 Rob" or whatever but they are only good if you have a 911, plan on keeping a 911 forever or have £thousands in the bank to buy it. Insane.

Why not get something that's personal to you that you can swap from car to car rather then 1er specific or is it just that easy and cheap in the U.S to have whatever plate you want? My plate cost me enough once, I'd never want to buy it again.

[QUOTE=gregthegr8;13587386]I know some of the ones I was looking at in CA that were unavailable that may help you brianstorm were every play on words with 1 in them, so looked at 1DR CAR (wonder car) or 1DRFUL, etc. etc. Even looked at a nod to The Natural with 1DR BOY.

If only there were a way to do 1 in a million.

Whast about

1PER1E6

Sorry, that only works in PA - might have to go with 1PER E6

or 1 per 1X10 to the 6th or 1 million?

That's funny, this morning in the shower I thought of going the nerdy route with something like 1 IN 10E6 and then started thinking back to horrible math classes of 20 years ago and thinking, wait, a milliion is 1E6 not 10E6 right? and then do I go 1E6 or 10E5?

Also reminds me of that line from Dumb & Dumber when Lloyd finds out what's her face has a husband and goes nuts saying, "What was with all that one in a million talk?!"

Now I'm going to look to see if 1 IN 1E6 is available in CA, though I fear bullies beating me up and calling me a nerd. Luckily, I'll be in a fast getaway car.

Nevermind, just looked on CA DMV website and 1 IN 1E6 is not available, nor is 1 IN A 1E6. Some nerd fluent in scientific notation beat me to the punch. Think I set a 1addicts record for most times using "nerd" in a post, too.

Speaking of nerdy... if I ever buy my wife an Audi, I'm getting her this plate for sure - no one better get it now... All rights reserved :-)

Some other good ones were variations of "pull a fast 1" but depends how many characters you get of course.

Ooh, I like that. Hmm.

Nothing will ever beat a champagne Corvette I was behind years ago in Beverly Hills of all places. I drove behind him for like a mile trying to figure out his license plate until I finally got it and got off his a**...pun intended. Hopefully I will never need his medical services.

I got 1IS 4ME, though for some strange reason everyone seems to read it as IT'S 4ME, including the cop who pulled me over for no front plate.
