Thanks for the quick reply.
Yeah, it's the '09 128i (actually a 130na as opposed to a 130t). @ 49.5k mi thought about $2.8k worth of extended warrantee, decided no. Planned on keeping it to over 200k like the last few and thought anything that would fail would fail by 50k. Now @ 51.5 the service engine light is on and it (the engine) sometimes stumbles. Hoping it is something that is covered under the emissions warrantee (that's another good topic that I hope someone may supply info on). Every other BMW (5) and car any family members owned were easily diagnosed. Quick pumps of the gas pedal of the e34 gave me all the codes. Everything else was diagnosed with an $80 OBDII code reader. Before that it was the DMM (and before that the analog VOM) and some uncommon sense. Will def try Rohr. Work in Lake Ronkonkoma & Farmingville, so it's pretty much right around the corner. Thanks again, Bruce |

I live 5 minutes from Rohr. Theyve always set me right. But the specialize in older BMws mostly, like E36s and E39s, basically ones made before the year 2000ish.
It might be a good place to stop for a bit, but you should probably invest in an scanner of your own. You can get a BavAuto one specific to your VIN for like $100. Its very handy |
