The fuse holder is outside the casing, but I still have the powerpack ziptied inside. I soldered the fuse holder in myself and had plenty of cable to run it to where your fuse holder is sitting. I know is not what was recommended but I have the power pack zip tied on the other side of the housing from the heat sink and it hasn't shifted since installed (and subsequently reinstalled after the fuse holder was added) and hasn't messed with the motors for the headlights.

thanks for the reply. Just was wondering if there was a better place to hide the powerpack and fuseholder so that it's not as noticable.

I know what you mean. To be fair though, nobody has ever been like "eww your engine compartment sucks because there is a fuse holder in plain sight." Also, the techs at the service center I use love my angel eyes and don't try to bust my balls about "being modded." Usually they just want to know where I got them.

Think I just saw you on Kal Hwy (Thursday ~4:30pm.) Your car looked great! Made me wish I went with my first choice of Alpine White for a second there... Wasn't sure if it was you until I passed you and saw the white angel eyes in my rear view. The lights look good.

It's going to be beautiful when you get those Advans!

My HID angels do not turn off or dim with the headlights on. I have the camaross kit. The Alpine kit does not turn off or dim either.

To each his own I guess. I went with LUX LED's for the following reasons.

1) Even light dispersion
2) do not have to notch covers
3) Low heat - I've read posts about people running HID angels and their rings turned yellow due to heat.

I agree with your first two points. I too may have gone with the LUX if it were similar in price to my hid kit. However, I'm fairly certain that the HIDs put out less heat than the stock halogens.

Here's a temperature comparison between LED's vs HID's vs Halogen

and this is the thread I read about angel eyes yellowing due to HID temperatures.

Am I right in assuming that I don;t need to cut a groove in the back cover for the LUX LED's now ? as I remember this being required with them

You are correct. There is no notching involved with the LUX. The four wires that have to pass to the outside are thin enough so that you can close the cover over them and still retain a tight seal. The only kit I know that you have to notch the cover is the Alpine HID or use the cover with the rubber gromit built into the back of the cover.

I'd be interested to hear how you've done it please......

Since I've the adaptive bi-zenons on my 2011 N55 I tried a HID halo kit and had failures on my dash, even with warning relay's in place to (eliminate/trigger) bulb out/adaptive failure.... Also had to put holes in the light covers for the wiring......
I just installed using the instructions and videos online for the alpine/camaross kits. It is tapped into the factory h8 connection on the passenger side. I have a resistor in the driver's side h8 connection, but I still get an error every now and then which goes away within 5 seconds of starting the car. Camaross is supposed to be sending me a new resistor which will prevent this from happening.

Everything that I've read claims that the new lci angel eyes are LED.
