new dinan intake for 135i

As these intakes are made of hand-crafted carbon fiber, it is going to take a few months to get production ramped up. We are projecting the following delivery schedules so please expect back orders for the first couple of months. For December we will have a limited supply and should be able to ship 10 units. January will be 20 units and by February 40 units, which will be our monthly output. We will be keeping track of orders placed by date and will not be able to fulfill orders for multiple intakes until inventories are built up.

Please call your Dinan rep for the intake that fits your customer's specific car as we have four separate kits and the details are below.

135i Product Numbers:
D760-0026 - 2007-09 135i (E82)

335i Product Numbers:
D760-0027 - 2007-08 335i/xDrive (E90)
D760-0029 - 2009 335i/xDrive (E90)
D760-0025 - 2007-09 335i/xDrive (E92/E93)

The Cold Air Intake replaces the factory plastic airbox lid with a carbon fiber lid that adds a secondary carbon fiber intake tube. The intake tube includes shielding for the conical filter to protect it from the hot engine compartment air. Air entering through the Dinan intake is over 40 degree F cooler than coming in through the stock intake.
Horsepower is increased by +14 hp @ 6000 rpm and Torque is increased by +16 ft-lbs @ 3400 rpm on a completely stock car.
Retail price is $999.
Installation time for the intake is 1.5 hours. "

Interesting idea replacing the airbox lid and keeping the lower portion.

If they're using a cone filter out at the end of the intake tube, they must be blocking off the factory cold air piping? I'm not sure I completely understand how that's laid out.

seems like to me it's using the stock box on the bottom portion, only the cover is new and CF... so it's taking in air from both the bumper and grill (2x the air and 2 cold sources.), they prob give you a new air filter too.

So, a $1000 airbox lid? And why aren't the dyno sheets and IAT logs posted. "Performance" products without factual data are worthless IMO.

Ok, so I think I see what they're doing with this now.

The airflow on the factory box comes down the inlet pipe, then goes up through the filter on the left hand side, then down to the turbos on the right. I'm thinking they're probably just blocking off the side where the factory inlet pipe comes in, and using only the right hand side, which goes straight to the turbos.

Wait hold on a second, why is it E82 only? The E88 and E82 are the same from the doors up.

The E88 version is $1499 because of extra development costs.
