Cool BMW 1M Akrapovic Exhaust Specs Released: +15hp / + 19Nm

Official 1M Coupe Exhaust Specs:

2 systems:
  • "Slip on" axle back
  • "Evolution" (catback without downpipe and manifold) [pictured below on IAA photos]
Hard facts (Evolution catback system):
  • +15hp
  • +19Nm
  • -16Kg weight

Also available is a downpipe with modified cat but this requires a ECU modification

Per Drillslinger: the system shown is cat-back ("Evolution" system) with resonators and the valve option. When the valve is closed exhaust gases go through the muffler and out the inner tips. When open, the muffler route remains open but the path of least resistance becomes straight out the drivers outer tip and across (over the muffler) to the passenger side outer tip.

I must say it is a very slick design with the valve diverting exhaust through the outer or inner tips.

If only those damn tips didn't cost so much!

You probably get screwed by the currency conversion. At $2091 USD, the slip-on isn't too outrageous, considering I paid $1800 USD for my E46 M3's Dixis titanium muffler 5 years ago. The additional $2400 USD for the titanium midpipe is fairly insane though. Then you get to the tips at $1400 USD which makes them automotive equivalent of a woman's thong: minimum material at maximum price.

The slip-on with wireless control intrigues me. If there's a noticeable difference in noise between the two modes I may end up purchasing one.

quick question, my 1M is currently in production
looking to purchase an exhaust for it since I do not think I would enjoy the drone...

Heard that the Eisenmann exhaust still has a slight drone to it
No comments from the Supersprint
How bout from Akrapovic? Guess no one is actually running it yet, but how about information from the dealers

my Akra dealer has 3 on order,
also, each exhaust needs a few 1000miles/km's to "burn in"
so the "full sound" isn't there in the beginning!!!

Akra isn't delivering yet (in .BE)

Possible to get direct information about if drone is present or not
and report back after your testing as well

I have a friend who put the Eisenmann (TUV version) exhaust on his e93 335i. She was really dissapointed by the sound. Not much louder than stock. I have heard that IF you want sound.. get Eisenmann's "race system" bc their street TUV exhausts are too quiet. I think for a 335i BMW's Performance Exhaust sounds nice enough for the price.

I have yet to hear a Akrapovic "live". Maybe when I go to the Essen Motor Show in Dec.

doesnt quite answer my question regarding the drone
I do not doubt the sound level of the exhaust, but I've read that the eisenmann exhaust for the 1M does produce a small amount of drone
and was wondering if its the same for akrapovic and supersprint that was my question

perhaps try contacting a dealer like Harold or Akrapovic directly to see what thier thoughts are. ?
