Detroit Autoshow: BMW 135i Coupe LCI
BIMMERPOST NEWS Detroit Autoshow: BMW 135i Coupe LCI *** UPDATE: New video added below! In the same vein as the BMW 128i Convertible showcased at the Detroit Autoshow, here is the 135i which comes with the M-Sport aerodynamics as standard kit. The updated LCI headlights and tailights look just as fresh against the Alpine White as they did on the Vermillion Red of the Convertible counterpart. Because of the M-Sport aerodynamics kit (which is unchanged from the pre-LCI models), the Air Curtain technology featured on the 128i and 1M could not be incorporated into the 135i. However, the idea of air curtain does seem interesting, and I would expect to see it incorporated into the next generation 1-Series, the F20. On the inside, there is an all new Interior Trim color, called Gloss White available. Think Star Wars stormtrooper white, and matches the Alpine White exterior perfectly. This combination really stands out from the crowd and would expect quite a few people to go for this option. Other then these subtle changes, no significant changes are noted in these cars. Look out for pricing details later today! ** UPDATE: 135i Coupe: $39,925. 135i Convertible: $44,675 Video

being a sport package on this 135, I would think BMW would have better looking wheels. I prefer the older 5 spoke star wheel on the 135.

I'm surprised they have the orange reflector in the headlights even on the LCI. It seems that BMW was moving the orange reflector to the bumper in most LCI vehicles because it was cheaper to manufacture 2 different bumpers for the euro and NA market then it would be to manufacture 2 different headlight assemblies.

While I appreciate a mid-cycle refresh as much as the next person, I think the headlights are a bit much. Which is it, BMW, corona rings or eyebrows? I think this particular iteration of the two is too much, especially on U.S. cars where you have the corona rings, the eyebrows, and the corner light all lit up as parking lights!

This can't be the M Sport package... The wheels don't have the Ms on them (and are ugly as sin, to boot) and the window trim is chrome when it should be black. I also hate the new headlights. SO GLAD I have a 2010 with the nice lights, better wheels, and N54.

Definitely don't like the wheels. I love my wheels on my 2009 and my N54. Wouldn't change for anything.

Glad I have my 2008. The eyebrows are tacky and the 2010 mirrors are horrid AND those wheels look like a spin off of the 2006 Lexus IS250 I used to own. Horrible! Yes and the amber reflectors are still there. (

The mirrors are the same as the '10 mirrors, no? Also, the amber reflectors in the front aren't going anywhere, they're required by U.S. law and frankly, I think they're better integrated into the headlights than they are when they're a separate reflector like on most cars including the E9X cars.

I think the "M Sport Package Standard" is a poorly worded sentence that really means "M Sport Front Fascia Standard". In other words, no real change from 2011 on that item.

Does the 135i still get black exhaust tips? In some of the photos they look chrome and in others black/grey-ish? ???
Those new V-spoke wheels on the (white) 135i make it look less sporty. Good for 1M sales, bad for 135i sales. lol Dackel |
