Any Luck On Track Tires?
Has anyone out there had good luck finding track tires (e.g., R888, R-S3) that'll fit in the restricted front space of the 1 Series?
Currently I have Apex wheels 8.5 front and 9.5 rear. Over the last 3 years I've run Mich PSS 225/255, RE-11 225/255, RE-11 235/265, and currently Nexen Sur4 225/255. I've had some track rub (but not on the street) with all of them to varying degrees. For this season, I'm wanting a track tire like R888 or R-S3 or something equivalent. I have a spreadsheet with the specs for 11 tires per Tirerack. But in the front wheel well I have extremely restricted space, like 3 mm diameter and 3 mm inside at the struts. It's pretty tight. The situation is so depressing that I'm thinking of going widebody in the front. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Check in the STU/STX chat thread:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1109383 I think several people fit 245's or 255's with the right offset in the front. I know I have Seen 265's in the rear, and I think 275's are also possible with the right offset. In the front is reallly is a game of getting the right offset to clear the front strut and not kill the fender.

I've got a square set of 235-section Toyo R888s mounted on 16x8.5 Kosei K1s. No fitment issues.

Search. A bunch of us are running 255's in the front of the car. Roll your fenders, use stiffer springs so you don't rub and have a lot of negative camber. I'm running 17x9 with 255 in the front, without issue.
