DIY Request - Convertible Top Hydraulic Fluid
Hi,
Curious if anyone knows anything about hydraulic fluid service for the convertible top. Is the fluid shared with the PSF? Separate pump? Separate reservoir? Where is any of this located? |

It's a stand alone system. Why do you need to service it is the real question...

Because fluids degrade and absorb water (these arent truly closed systems typically) in time. PM is a good thing on PSF, brake fluid, oil, trans, diff, etc. Why is the fluid for the power top any different????

I believe the entire mechanism is behind the back seat, in front of the trunk. It seems like there are lubrication points on the mechanism recommended for attention in the manual but nothing on maintaining fluid. I changed my "good for life" manual transmission and rear end fluid, however.
