MISSING! "Year one of the 1"-Canada

Just got mine on Mon June 2 and no engraving, it was an ordered car so I din't expect the engraving. However, some of the 1's they have on the lot have the engraving most likely since they were the original build.

Not sure what the production date is. ( I will find out ) My salesman found my car enroute to TO from port at halifax, and had it re routed to Regina, so if that helps? How do I know the production date, where do I look on the car to find out?

I got my car Friday (AW135I), and there was no engraving, not big deal....

I did have all the M stuff including the dead peddle...

Kick XXX car... I will post the pictures over the weekend....

There is no possible way they stopped engraving them due to the bilingual rules in Canada. Just take a glance at the instrumentation in your car, it's all in english.

I've never owned a car where any of the buttons were also labelled in french. The only exception to this rule is for safety items, such as the air bag warning stickers, those *must* be bilingual by law.

All cars have the manufactured date on the door jamb.

thats right, all wanrings in cars in canada must be symbols or bilingual..so no "check engine" sign, instead we get the engine symbol. Same idea with brakes.

oh and brake dust does suck. this crappy weather isnt helping either...tomorrow it will be washed

Hey Guys just to let ya know my dealer said the was only the first month of production 1'ers that received the Year 1 of the 1.
I was looking for it too.

I will be getting my car in august and if it doesn't come with the "year 1 of the 1" that is understandable. But if it doesn't come with the M3 dead peal i'll be pissed and I will be complaining to the dealership. Why did some ppls get the dead pedal and some didn't, was it included in a certain package?

If you got the M sport package I would think it would come with it. I know mine did. And, it is awesome looking.

I am receiving my 128i CAB on July 31 or 1 week into august. The car is coming from a dealer lot in Vancouver. not sure how long it was sitting in the lot or what the build date is. or worse, if it was a line up of damage goods from shipping. I will post my findings soon. BTW, disappointed if what all 100+ threads are mentioning is true. Especially as a first time BMW owner.

I am picking up my car this Friday Aug 8th. Visited the dealer this evening and the car has the

1. liner under the hood installed.
2. The 'Year 1 of 1' on the start button.
3. Spare bolts (4) and wheel key were in the truck as a sealed package.
4. No 'M Dead Pedal' visible.

The build date sticker on the driver door saids 02/08.

Dealer had 2 more cars (1.28i) on the lot which also had the same build date and details as above.

Hope that helps all others and posting I have read on the above missing items.
