Best launch technique
Guys, so far since getting my car I have been enjoying the in gear acceleration and its devastating overtaking ability. However, I am yet to try an all out sprint from standstill.
Any suggestions on the best way to get a clean launch without frying my clutch, bogging down or generating unnecessary wheel spin?

Around 2 to 2500 does it for me, ediff on. Around that rpm you have plenty of turbo torque to get you off the line. Might be a bit of smoke though as you fry the RFTs hehe!

How about the timing on the clutch. A crisp drop or you let it linger a bit before fully engage?

I'd say somewhere between a clutch drop and a "linger". Also, be judicious on the go pedal, or you'll just spread expensive rubber along the pavement, like vegemite on toast.
Once you hook up, slam that gas down though. |

For hard aggressive starts, switch off fully i.e. engage the e-diff.
For 'normal' traffic light starts, one click i.e. engage DTC is sufficient, and if you get a decent start you will get a little wheel spin initially but the DTC won't kick in. Personally, unless it's wet or you have cold tyres the TC light never comes on for me unless I screw the start.

Woooow... just went for a test launch. Wasn't game enough to turn off TC completely, but did a start with DTC. Followed by one with DSC.
There is a HUGE difference with DTC on compared to DSC. Got some wheel spin and TC light flashes, but the car just went whoop, whooop, whoooop......boy was it quick! After that with DSC on it felt like I was towing a trailer. I'd be stepping on the gas, but the car just wasn't giving. Amazing stuff!

With TC completely off, the e-diff starts working, and you can be a bit more aggressive on your launch, since you won't be able to break one tire free, due to a bit of sand.
However, if the road surface was perfect, then just DTC mode is close to equal "all off" mode in a straight line. |

Now I need pointers to a quiet, deserted, rural area in Irvine that I can practice without being a menace to society.
