Yippie!! I'm on the WWL Elektra, not the NYK Hojin!
On the ship-tracking sticky thread, it says that Wallenius-Wilhelmsen carries BMWs to the USA only on the East Coast, while NYK carries all cars bound for the West Coast. This is WRONG! Based on this erroneous data, I had assumed my car left Bremerhaven on the NYK Hojin on the 9th. But I just found out from my CA that WWL also frequently brings cars through the Panama Canal to the West Coast, and mine is on WWL Elektra, which sailed on the 5th, and is now in US waters, due in Port Hueneme on the 29th!
The car should be at Hahn Motors (Yakima WA) by Oct. 10!:roundel: Wallenius has way better tracking, so anyone on the West Coast who isn't SURE they are on NYK should check into WWL's site with their VIN. |

Maybe someone on here with more experience with bmw's shipping time lines can help me out here. My car is waiting for the boat right now. When I ordered the car @ sept 9th, production finished @ sept 26th, they said the earliest day I could do PCD was Nov 21st (when I ordered the car). Seems kinda long now that the car is already waiting for the boat. Does anyone think I can get them to move it up? (They seem to be ahead of schedule) It seems REALLY long that I would have to wait almost 6-7 weeks when the car is already sitting at the dock waiting for the boat (confirmed on 800 #). I can't wait any longer, any info that would help me be more informed when speaking with my CA tomorrow would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. Anyone else with an 09 waiting too here??

BMWUSA still has my car as awaiting transport even though its on the Isolde (Wallenius) and is heading to Port Heueneme, CA. Estimated arrival is late October, so with time at the VPC, etc. etc. should arrive in Hawaii by mid November to early December. I hate waiting, but at least I have comfort knowing it has already set sail I just want to thank you guys for all this great info and resources. You guys help me out more than my dealer, lol. Thanks again!

hey, I may be on the same one as you, because my status switched to "in transit" a day or two ago also. looks like the only west coast-bound ship that left in that rough timeframe is the grand neptune (ETA 10/20)!

The dealer says I'm on the NYK Grand Neptune but I have been all over the NYK website fleet list and also their roll-on roll-off site fleet list and couldn't find anything. The last time sailwx.com had Grand Neptune (3EEX9) tracking was in late 2007... For the record, NYK Line absolutely SUCKS for tracking their ships. My previous BMW was on a Wallenius Wilhelmsen ship and I tracked it all the way to Port Hueneme (except for a couple of days going through the Canal... If anyone else is on the Grand Neptune, chime in! |

Heh, well on that page that I linked earlier, there's a destination and an ETA noted. A quick google of "Cristobal" brings up a Wikipedia page, which shows that it's: a city in the Dominican Republic (uhh); a city in Spain (hmm); and a city in Panama (aha!). Specifically, it's a port city on the Atlantic side of the Canal.
