On size - there was an interesting spy shot of the 1 cab on an auto blog somewhere recently showed it parked between a current 3 series and a current MINI - it was almost exactly at the intermediate point between the 2 in length and width - perfect size!
Some humble pie is in order: I've got to eat the overly harsh criticisms of the coupe's look I made earlier, as I am starting to warm up to its looks with increased exposure and in light of the new photos showing up. While I still wish BMW had incorporated more daring elements in its design (elements beautifully demonstrated in that gorgeous Z4 above), it is handsome in its own understated, conservative way. If I'm honest with myself, what I really want I guess is a car that looks like the Z4 but has the practicality of a 2+2 coupe - and of course that's never going to happen. (Also good to hear from Winding Road that the coupe may actually have some back-seat livability.) |

I found that encouraging too, as this car has to be semi-practical for me - kids and babyseats. Back seat room seems to have been a real shortcoming for the 1er hatch, so it's great to hear it's not too tight in the coupe.
