[QUOTE=Kouper;21367049]Over half a million views on this thread, but it has been dying a slow death!
Time for a 4 year reunion / check-in with some of the very first 135is owners. Tell us: Do you still have the 135is? If not, when did you sell it and what are you driving now? Anything else of interest about the car. There may not be much interest, but this is at least worth a try. How about a weigh in from: I do still have my 135is (6MT, mineral grey, oyster leather, premium pkg, heated seats) and put 13k on it. It's garaged most of the time and I drive my 2016 Frontier Pro-4X (6MT) as a DD. I like the 1 very much but I am debating selling or trading it for an M2 because I don't want to depreciate while not in use. I'm not too crazy about the M2 due to its "in your face" looks and lack of the classic analog feel of the 1. Any thoughts about the depreciation of the 1? |

How much is not clear because these "old-type" BMWs with hydraulic steering and MT are irreplaceable with a newer version, today. Plus, there is the "is" factor in that although the 135is is not wholly different than the much more common 135i, it is still a special model that was not made in large numbers. Whether that translates into significantly greater demand/retained value over the next few years is anyone's guess. It will always sell at somewhat of a premium to the basic 135i, given the options present, just it is not clear if the value of the "total package" and the badging will add up to much in addition. I would keep it if you have the garage space and no clear cut choice for a replacement. You could always buy something different like a 996 Porsche Turbo (like I just did) however the expected maintenance cost of a vehicle like that will probably dwarf whatever depreciation a low mileage 135is is likely to experience in the next few years. |

Spring Cleaning
A suicidal turkey hen and I crossed paths on my Saturday am country drive (thankfully no damage), so it was time for a wash to remove the entrails....brutal.
After a wash and a vacuum and I decided she was due for a wax - out came the Zymol and the microfiber and here are the results. No, not professional detailer level, but I'm pretty pleased. Almost 4 yrs old, just under 5000 miles and she still looks brand new! OK, guys - let's try imgur instead of Google Last edited by Bama335; 05-29-2017 at 07:26 PM.. |

Looking good and always loved carbon black. Such a classic BMW color. Tis why I sat there at the dealer for 20 minutes staring at a mineral grey IS next to a carbon black one so I could try to decide which color to get. Was agonizing. Now please come clean and wax my fleet. Much obliged. |

Maybe only the cool people can see them. As such, I see them just fine and the car looks amazing. Beautiful car, thanks for sharing. Love CB and used to have an E46 M3 in that color. Fond memories.

In the end, I had wanted Carbon Black since I first saw it on the E39M5, so it got the nod with the blue stitching seats. Four years later and the car still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. |
