The different springs have different tensions. There's a stiff spring, medium spring, and a soft spring. The reason for using a different spring is based on the amount of pressure going through your diverter valves. For example, you'd want to run the soft or medium spring with a stock application. However if you've got a tune, exhaust, etc, you'd probably want to use the stiffer spring.

Basically, the softer the spring, the easier it is for the DVs to open.

**This is what I believe, I'm sure someone from RR can clarify.

So, if I have a Cp-e exhaust and RR intake, I should stick with the medium springs...Change to heavy if I go with downpipes and a tune...

Hey RB^, how is your wheel/tire combo holding up? Any rubbing issues going on? Can't wait for dyno results.

Anthony,

Will your intake work with other aftermarket BOV kits? Have you guys done any test fitting say with an HKS or TIAL BOV?

Thanks.

The intake fits similar to stock settings. So if the bov fits with stock it should fit with the intake. However we have NOT done the testing for this. I will update you as soon as we do.....Thanks!

guys, very impressive stuff!
i would like to ask whether a stage 2 RR CAI is worthwhile in terms of hp/torque gains for a 1er without a tune but with an RR catted DP?

Hey professor,

The full stage 3 will help over stock. All of our products are made to perform over stock. (While we make them to perform over stock. We also add the 400hp+ variable) Thats why the hard pipe and diverter valves have an added bonus of adjustable springs for the higher power cars. But getting rid of that soft pipe and those small OEM DVs will still help even added to a stock car (also great sound). The Stage 1 & 2 of the intake plus scoops/shield is a great upgrade with catted dps. Hope this helps!
