BMW Style 108 Z4 wheels on my 128i - done
I'm a reader on this site quite often, but not a poster. Nothing to really post about. I had spent a long while searching out the Z4 wheels on the E82 issue and finally found a great set of BMW Style 108 wheels from a Z4. I researched on this site to confirm that these Z4 wheels will fit, but I couldn't find any pictures anywhere to prove it. So, I thought I'd post these pics so others might learn something.
They came off a 2009 Z4 Si with the optional 18" sport wheels. The wheels are 8x18 ET47 on the front and 8.5x18 ET50 on the rear. My car is a 2010 128i with the M-sport package - great little daily driver - so it already came with 17" M-sport wheels. I found the wheels on Craigslist from a guy who wanted something different for his Z4; my gain. Before buying my 128i, I considered a Z4, and I always wanted one with those two-piece Style 108 wheels. So, now I got them! Today, I got a new set of 18" Michelin AS tires, and I wish I had done this sooner. Those runflats were horrific; way worse than I thought. Buying new, quality tires has taught me just how rough those stupid RFs were. Good riddance to them.

Houston. Work in Brenham. Rental house awaiting the completion of my real house across the highway. Also awaiting my four-car garage with lift!

Spacers bad karma; like using blocks on a lift kit.

Blue Bell? That's the only think I know about Brenham, lol. That, and it must be quite a commute!

65 miles each way. I used to daily drive Lexus LS430s because they were fast and dead reliable. But since getting into 24 Hours of Lemons racing three years ago, all my vehicles have changed. No more cushy; need more sport. While shopping for something more interesting, I drove this 128i with M Sport. Loved it. Now my commute takes place at around 85 mph, and on giddy days I'll hang around 100. The car just loves those speeds. And the seats, holy crap. Greatest things ever.
Simple smoothness of BMWs greatest straight six in 3200 lbs. What's not to love?

24 Hours of Lemons - it's a racing series where anyone can join and go racing with a theoretical $500 car. It's a blast. The main site is here, watch the video for an idea:
http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/ Here's our race car:

I've admired your Benz on the Lemons site before! How'd you build that thing for $500?
Small world.

Very nice choice. I have a LeMans Blue 135 with style 203 wheels that were originally on the Z4 Coupe with the sport package. The Z4/E46 3 series offsets are really perfect for most streetable combinations of tires. They really look nice.

The car itself was $1000 but we sold off a bunch of interior stuff. All that counts towards the $500. The suspension, wheels/tires, and safety bits don't. Every car requires a roll cage and a few cheap nick knacks, but many show up in a genuine $500 car with leaks, bad breaks, and cheap tires. There's two awards won at every race; one for most laps and the other for the biggest POS that crosses the finish line.
