Saying "those welds suck" or "the material looks to be inferior" are not only factually false, they don't really tell us anything outside of your opinion. |

We have plenty of people claiming that these coilovers are so much better than those coilovers, but no factual information. So going back to headers...how about everyone quit calling people fan boys and prove people wrong with actual information. I know I'll be posting my results as apart of my build when I do Supersprint Headers, Custom Exhaust and AA Tune. |

I should be making ~20 hp more now (both cars have received further mods), but last time I dynoed... My M3 is on it's 4th set of headers, SuperSprint, and I'm finally happy with them. I understand better than anyone the benefit of "do it right, do it once"-- I would have saved TONS of money if I had started with SS instead of wasting time/money on lesser products. ... As I DID do with suspension. I've put 130,000 miles on my TCK DA's and am still completely enthused with them. Much better than if I had gone Springs to springs/shocks to crappy coilover (e.g. ST's) to TCK DA's. Did it once, did it right, cheaper in the long run. That's how I endeavor to do everything on all my cars going forward. I've learned the hard way that going the cheap route is more expensive in the long run. Similarly, I got a Brembo bbk from the start and have been 100% happy with it. Had I gotten a stoptech bbk or BMW performance bbk, I'd have done it again by now, money wasted.

Let me make this clear. I'm all about function over form. I did not say everyone was a "fan boy" I'm saying almost every car looks the same, 80 percent of the car have vmr wheels. I don't consider that performance or anything. Everyone and everyone's mom says PSS are the best tire in the world. Wrong. There not! The name is brought up a lot so everyone gets it. Yes it's a good overall tire but I hate when people say it's the stickiest ect ect. This is what I'm talking about.

However, I'll keep replying as long as you keep posting dumb stuff . Have you even dynoed your car, if that's the qualification for posting? I do have experience with SS (and crappy) headers on multiple other BMW platforms, as well as evolve tunes (and other, worse tunes) on multiple BMW platforms (with extensive dyno testing of each configuration). Which isn't to say they're optimal for everything. I don't run them on the race car because they don't have the heat capacity for track use. I don't run them on the M5 because the M5 doesn't handle well enough for that much grip. I don't run them on the wife's wagon because she doesn't need that much grip, and longer tire life is better. But, there isn't a better choice for a summer street tire for the M3. |

I also found here that Magnaflow makes header style cats for the N52 (similar to aFe)...does anyone have any thoughts on these?

S**mann has a header thats cheap. Not sure if mentioned in this thread already ( They are - edit)
Also S**man header vs SS - there is a difference in design, SS n52 is alot like v2 of their products for e46 m3, while S**mann is alot like v1 of SS for e46 m3

The difference between v1 and v2 ss stepped on the e46m is based pipe diameter-- v1 needs a specific (larger diameter) section 1, v2 works with the stock (or any) section 1. The rerouting of the pipe is to allow for the increased diameter.

okay, I didnt know that.
I was referring to visually how the pipes bend, etc

Kind of a pointless comparison as the design principle behind them is completely different.

Well not really. What I meant by my comparison was more of is v1 vs v2. Specifically are they stepped or equal length design or other. That would indicate that the SS n52 vs S**man would have more of a grounds for comparison, assuming materials and diamters of pipe are the same.
I didnt know about the different diameters to fit section 1's on e46.
