Older aux audio switch to new

Hello all,
I have a 2009 128i that has the older AUX audio and cigarette lighter terminal in the center console area and I was wondering if i could change out that switch panel with something like this:

any thoughts would be appreciated.

That's the plug for 6FL (iPod/USB connection), and requires different hardware, cabling and coding.
