ABS Pump Fluid Dried Up
Hey guys, long story short I took the calipers off the car to be powder coated. Dumb arse me forgot to cap the lines so all the fluid did not evaporate. I put the calipers back on the car and bled the brakes in the correct order. I still had a mooshy pedal after bleeding each corner twice but I still have a little bite with the brakes. So I have a strong hunch its air in the abs pump. Is there any way before I have the car towed to dealer to activate the abs pump? A good friend of mine tried inpa but was having difficulties with it. I read about taking the car in a field or parking lot and slamming on the brakes to activate it and then rebleed or even jumping the abs pump relay. I just don't feel comfortable doing that. The car is in storage right now so any advice or tips and tricks would be appreciated. Sorry for the long post.

Can try put the car on Jack stands then just put in gear and drive the car. This will cause the dsc to come on which also runs the abs pump. Probly safer then driving the car with air in brake system

You should be able to bleed the system like normal. Might just take a couple more tries.
Got any pics of the calipers? I'm thinking about doing mine. Did you have to disassemble them completely (pistons seals)? |

Was implying you should settle down. Sarcastic replies to a lack of replies doesn't generate a lot of people wanting to help.
But I did actually come back to delete it. Too late. My apologies FWIW. |

I am said friend. . I've tried a few different BMW Standard Tools / EDIABAS / INPA downloads. At this point I'm almost certain that I have a 100% working copy of the BMW software but who knows. It's so hard to find any downloads posted in 2014. We found some information for an E46 saying that you need to go to Activations, then ABS. Not only is there no N55 in the Engines but there isn't any ABS menu available either. I just emailed the guys that sell the Bavarian Technic cable / software. I'll see what they have to say also. This has to be an easy answer for one of the BMW mechanics on here. Any of you guys run into this yet?
