Just got word from the 1-800 number that my 330xi is now being sent to Bremerhaven for transport. My CA has also confirmed this via email.

If I can only hope that I don't get assigned the slow boat.

The anticipation is killing me. However, the order/production process was must faster than expected. I should be taking delivery at the Performance Center in mid-May.

Congrat, and have fun at the PCD! Now come a little unknown. You're car could sit for up to 2 weeks waitng to get in a ship. Mid may sound about right.

My 330i is also awaiting a ship. Really seemed to fly thru production, now waiting on shipment hopefully just as fast!!!

Congrats guys your babies have finally been born.

Your concern, right now is not if you'd get on a 'slow boat', rather how soon will your cars get loaded. As Chitown mentioned, the critical wait can be anytime between 3 days to 2 weeks.

It's really the luck of the draw here. Not sure what the exact policies would be outside of the fact that priority-1 (customer sold) and 9 (PCD) cars get processed faster than Priority-3 (dealer stock).

My CA mentioned that some tricks he pulls to get his cars on the boat quicker including emailing/calling POE contacts, ensuring customers'names are on the car and 'working the computer system' (I'm not sure what he meant by that). You guys might want to check with your CAs. My CA mentioned that these 'tricks' are accessible to all the CAs, is a matter of dedicating the time to ensure customer cars get sent over in the quickest time. Good Luck!

Congrats! Your car will probably go out on a ship within a few days of arriving at port. Mine got on a boat within 3 days--got there the 7th and left on a boat on the 10th.

However, I can promise you that you won't be looking at Performance Center delivery in mid-may. I'm taking PCD on May 10th and I ordered 11 days before you. The end of May is entirely possible though. I'd set your calender for sometime around May 22nd (I was lucky as BMW has a policy of doing a PCD 2 weeks after arrival in port and I managed to get the delivery manager to agree to 1.5 weeks after arrival in port).

Well, so far you all are right on the money. My car flew through production and now is sitting at the port... no change. I call virtually every 8 hours so I'll know quickly if something changes (of course, this method has simply set me up for disappointment so far).

My CA originally guessed that PCD would happen late-May but when the production date was moved up by amost a week I got a little giddy.

Based on the wealth of experience shared here I will adjust my plans for delivery (and may be I'll call for a status update only every 12 hours).

But when I saw your post, I was brave enough to call, and sure enough, I'm "in transit" too.

Maybe we're on the same boat?

Could be, but my CA didn't get back to me with the Ship name, etc.
There is WW ship leaving tomorrow... perhaps we're on it. 19 days to Charleston... torture.

Found out why my CA has not been getting back to me.... apparently he resigned!

Received an email from another CA advising me today that he is taking over my purchase.

On a positive note, I am scheduled for a Jun 1 PCD... later than I expected given the car is on a ship (I hope!) but still good to have a date to plan toward.

Found out I'm on the DYVI Puebla, which left Bremmerhaven on the 15th and is due to Charleston on the 1st.

I'm arriving May 6/7.

Spoke to my new CA and he is great. Transition has been smooth so far.

Finally confirmed that I am on the Freedom. The WW site took a while to update with the VIN.

Half-way across the ocean now but won't hit Charleston until May 7.

Also confirmed PCD on June 1. Not sure why the lengthy delay... probably a popular time of year to do delivery in SC. Hope they keep the cars under some protection at the delivery center. Anyone know for sure?
